Just made it to G Rank...little help guys?

Sooooooooooooo, I just made it to G Rank this weekend. Been soloing the game on my 3DS, and haven't encountered any difficulties...until I wanted to get some G Rank armor. So I have been (trying) to farm Pink Rathian for her awesome armor, and it is going terribly. It takes me close to 25 minutes to solo her, and I see no mantles in my near future. Can anyone recommend a set that wouldn't be tear inducing to farm for G Rank?

Well if you're in G-rank then you have already killed Goldbeard so why not his set. His blademaster armor is pretty good for a first G-rank set.

Try shepherds set.

Rhenopolis x
Peco x

Easy to make and gives sharpness 1 and you could gem in something like attack up.

Go for caedeus ZZZXZ set.

Wroggi X gemmed for Crit Eye +3, team player, razor sharp and Def lock. Nice to look at, easy to forge and it got me through the first level of G-Rank.

Thanks for the advice guys! I will definitely start that wroggi set, not too sure about that goldbeard set it seems like it might take an eternity soloing for all of those rare drops. Oh and I forgot to mention the equipment I am using now, High rank Glacial Agnaktor gemmed for Guard 2 Guard Up Sharpener and Stam Recover Up. I have been using either Blue Tail or Despot's Cacophany. A little GL'ing on the side with my Hidden Gunlance + or my Dios Gunlance + as well

You seriously need to start forging elemental waepons if you're using a lance or gunlance. Relying on raw damage alone is making your hunts a lot longer.

Well I chose those two lances for their elemental bonuses, the Despot's Cacophony has pretty awesome Thunder, and I chose the more Raw oriented Blue Tail for the sake of having a better lance than the Spear of Prominence. Other than these what are some suggestions you would give me for lance choices?

I think a lot of people get overly concerned about elemental damage. I recently entered a Brachy room and had Severento equiped, and the host was :O I didn't have elemental damage and told me to change (which I did, to Harmetristesse). Personally I think the increased raw, and much better sharpness of Severento more than makes up for it not having elemental dmg. And this is coming from a SnS guy, where elemental is prob more important than for any other weapon class.

On topic though, for my first G rank armor I went with Barroth X, pretty easy to get and it did the job well enough for HR 6 and 7.

Try Volvidon, Arzuros sucks thanks to the bad fire res (It is impossible just to beat a Rathian with that armour...) but volvidon has good defense, and thanks to it's skill 'biology' you can forget about slimeblight, which makes it easy to move unto Brachy!
