| It's Friday, so that means the MH4 website updated with some new info. This time, it's the controversial Arena! MH3 featured two arenas: the classic sandy colosseum, and the deep water tank. This time, water combat it out, but dynamic jumping and climbing is in. The new gladiator's quarters is quite breathtaking, and is sure to be a feast for the eyes in 3D. Maybe you'll only be here for a minute at most, but I do appreciate that they put a lot of polish on this area as well. We all got excited when we saw the video showcasing the revamped colosseum, as it featured a new weapon/device, in addition to the Dragonator: the dividing wall. Activated by switch, this spiked wall springs up, cutting the arena in half. Besides this flashy new mechanic, the floor of the arena itself is steeply sloped and littered with large boulders. This allows you to utilize the terrain itself to try and get the jump on opponents. Speaking of which, the new arena is the grand hall of trees. This darker, more cave-like arena features a large overhead canopy; perfect for getting the drop on monsters... and for climbing monsters to get the drop on you, too. Who knows if this arena features any hidden mechanisms or not... And hey! Check out that Great Jaggi Switch Axe! | |
