October 1st, new patch, yes I am aware of the other Terraria thread (I made it after all back in 2011), but I feel that given such a long time has passed from anything new with Terraria happening, that new thread was in order. So post all Terraria stuff here once it launches. Please keep spoilers in spoiler tags though as some people don't want anything spoiled.

I'm likely gonna roll a fresh character to play with a friends hosted Hamachi server, doesnt mean though I wont strip my main and set my Mega Shark, Rainbow Rod, and Excalibur in the cross world safe though...heheh, mostly just want my Mega Shark for pewpewpewpewpewpewpew,

Hamachi isn't needed anymore. Nor is portforwarding. Red revamped the multiplayer and server APIs and such, what to, I've no idea, but connecting and setting up multiplayer is meant to be far easier.

I imagine Megasharks won't be top tier anymore. There'll be something better :b

I don't understand? What if my friends aren't interested in hosting an actual server, we were content to just join directly to their IP. And I know Megasharks won't be top tier, I'm just saying I'll have it stored away incase I need it.

There's just so much.... We're just ready to go kill the WoF, if it's even still done like that. Fought one of the new bosses, made a badass house, got Molten gear, which isn't as annoying to get now, nice replacement for shadow armor and the corruption, lovely new backgrounds and weapons, really nice furniture to use...And then tomorrow we'll get to hardmode......

I'm having a blast with Terraria these last few days. It's a LOT of fun. Tons of new stuff makes it just fun fun fun, Hardmode Jungle is brutal though, as is Hardmode Dungeon.

Having to wait for your friends is an arse. One of the more helpful buddies is away for the whole weekend, and we're ready to bust straight into hardmode, which we can't do until we're all online ;~;

Been having a lot of fun, a bit too much actually as I've been putting off doing my Algebra homework longer than I wanted and now have to rush to do 3 sections. On the plus side though I've gotten a lot of items that I've wanted. Working on the fabled Terra Blade right now...

Made the fabled Ankh Charm and combined it into the Ankh Shield. God I love this thing. Took a LOT of farming of various stuff to get. Still no Terra Blade materials....

Made the Terra Blade myself Nova, it's really good. Also found a Paladin's Hammer yesterday after complaining to everyone that I couldn't find one xD
I just gotta get some extra accessories and stuff for a proper melee build. Also one thing I really don't like about 1.2, just about NONE of the new swords swing automatically when you hold down the mouse button. It's kind of a small complaint but gets a bit annoying considering loads of 1.1 weapons were hold to swing @_@

I also got the 3 things for the Terra Blade last night while Matt was with me, random solar eclipse, but no Reaper scythe :<

I'd actually vote Paladin's Hammer over Terra Blade, since there's no auto swing, and the hammer has ridiculous amounts of knockback...

So I started two softcore characters, one to take over from the mediumcore offline guy and one for a friend's server. Been mostly playing on the server character, getting close to end-game stuff, hard mode dungeon being the only obstacle. I'm currently at Frost Armour and a Cutlass with a Fire Gauntlet and basic other accessories, one of which being the climbing claws still because I forgot to save a shoe spike to combine with, and they have the armoured prefix. T_T

You gaiz need to post yo' server details so I can come play some time. ^^

Vampire Knives + Frost armour, vial of cursed flames, and the Fire Gauntlet thing is also quite OP. And rather rainbow-y.

What server details CAN we put up? Most of our IPs change, and as far as I know, only myself and Shane host regularly.

What are you all running for accessories these days? I'm guessing Ankh Shield is a must, as are wings; but after that everything seems pretty up in the air to me.

For pure damage dealing: Menacing: Avenger, Mechanical Glove, Warrior/Sorcerer/Ranger Emblem.
+49% damage to the class of your choice :­D

Paladins shield is great for tanking hits too.
