So MH4 has been out in Japan since September and was released in Korea yesterday (according to the wiki and my time right now.) I've been kinda out of the MH hype/scene due to the lack of a WiiU to play 3U and Pokemon. So anybody can tell me how is MH4 going and any news about it?

Here is what I been doing everyday.

Go on google> type mh4 localization> search tool bar to past 24 hours> get disappointed

Capcom is biggest mofos ever.
They sold 4 million copies of mh4, fastest selling mh4 yet probably the most as well.
And guess what they are doing with that money instead of localizing to the west? Making mother f-king mobile mh card game
Like seriously
We been begging and begging for months and months...
I hate them
At least I have pokemon
But I been getting bored of that

And I am so spolied with mh4, I can't even play 3u

And I also hate Nintendo
Dumb mofos region locking their 3ds... Like I wish there was some kind of hack to change this but nope...
AHHHHH so much rage...
I would buy korean mh4 version because I know how to read korean and stuffs
Sucks because I would have to buy 3ds again where I already bought 2 so far...

Why can't we just have all the nice thing?

^ I actually support the region locking but for more.. economical reasons and to support the overal local gaming markets. Though it blocks the importation of games it does help with security mesures, updating and the overall localization market. If you look and research Nintendo has some of the better security mesures and suports localization of games far more than most other companies out of japan. Many companies who do not have region locking see it that is a game can be imported than if it's a game that normally would not be than they don't have to. Nintendo on the other hand has begun localizing many games that normally would never be. Capcom ran into this with MHp3rd.. which actually lead them to moving the series to Nintendo in the first place.

There was much talk about this long... long ago so not to get to far off topic, everyone has their own opinion about system locking and while IMO i'd rather have system locking and the benifits that come with it in the long run then a sytem that is not backwards compatable... it can always be debatable both ways....

Now on to news.. 2014 is the 10 year anniversary of MH, MArch to be exact. It is unlikely given that both Tri and 3U actually did well in the west that Capcom will do nothing to support it. Capcom US did a lot to push 3U and even got in 3DS covers and helped get the online guides.. which is a bit more than we have had for a long time. MH4 and MHFg both just released in Japan and MHFg is releasing a special edition in February in japan. Also most of the content on both MH4 and MHFg are items from games that are not region (japan) spacific as most MH games have had in the past to include the Mario, Zelda, Fire emblem, and DMC Devil May Cry.

What we do know however is that in 2008 Yuri from Capcom Unity said there were no Current plans to bring MHFO to the west Before it was announced for PS3 and WiiU. In fact most of what he said would need to take place for them to consider bringing MHFronteir westward in 2008 has happened.

you can read here and speculate yourself: http://www.capcom-unity.com/sven/blog/2008/01/07/monster_hunter_frontier_where_art_thou

As far as MH4 is concerned.. There is no reason to consider that it wouldn't be localized. Nintendo was actually given the rights to localize it in Korea and they were the ones to do the full work on it pretty much, all marketing distrabution and so on and I believe even translation. Korea is a new market in many ways and a large income so it makes sense to focus on them.

Nintendo also, along with Capcom if they are planning on using MH4 in the west with any 10 year celebration events has to work on timing releases of games. With several WiiU and 3DS big name games already announced for spring and summer they can't overlap games that will take down sales of games that they want on top.. and with the PS4 and Xbox yet to be released in Japan Nintendo is likely timing their best games to release world wide around those launch windows. So anything Monster Hunter in the West will need to be timeed accordingly.

Also as I have mentioned multiple times.. MH3U, MH4 and even MHFg all have their specific elements of play areas they target and planned correctly can all exist at the same time and support each other.

3U can act as a home console game with online for those who prefer home consoles and playing online or off while at home.

MH4 is a mobile game that allows some what different play style then MH3U and offeres online while away from the home console.

MHFg offeres the MMO aspect and (likely) pay to play experiance that not overyone will want but MH fans will really enjoy as well as many MMO fans.

All 3 will also likely get people interested in the other, especially if it's all marketed by the same company (nintendo) 3U wiiu, Fg WiiU, MH4 3DS... But it will also allow Capcom to market MH for other System Mobile devices, PC's and so on. And as of late Capcom has been exspanding in to the mobile market quite a bit.

So it's reasonable to believe that 2014 we will see quite a bit of MH here in the west but as always it falls to Capcom and a waiting game.
