| I have the ccp for the regular and xl 3ds'
3U controlls much better without them once you learn the controls and auto caamera well IMO. Lucas, for underwater are you using the centerin camera as well as the auto ainming when big monsters are around?
also @ tom: they added new weapon in 3U over tri so addin one new weapon that they have already made intoi 4U isn't that far of a streatch.
Back to MH4, they have adjusted the controls a bit. Likely even improved them more for 4U, the CPP while not horrible for me I can do everything quicker without it and it feels more comfortable on the xl not to use it. I also like having all the touch screen features set up to just click on stuff easily.. with the ccp on the xl it's more difficult to use the touch screen. That being said I do know a few people that love using it but it's really mixed depending on who you talk to.

not that i wanna be pesimistic here, i also would like to get the tonfas or some other new weapons. but as i said, 3U was an exception as it was on a completely different console, had no data transfere and was more or less the G-version of both tri an P3rd. but with data transfere from 4 i doubt they can/want to make any major structural changes in the game (well at least not in Low and high rank, and adding a new weapon in g-rank only would seam quite strange) also with two new weapon types in 4 they surely want to hold some stuff back for mh5 instead of pushing everything into one game/gen. thats all I'm saying

| Yeah imagine that fabulous trailers - old monsters but with more HP! Old weapons but with more sharpness! New colours of monsters!
Nah... simply adding G rank isn't a thing imho but you can think what you want.

I'll just leave it with that, till we see more of the actual game/anouncements

| Unite added one weapon over Freedon 2.. So that still means 4U can add one weapon. and some of the added monsters in Unite were in the 6* quests before g rank as well...
So right there contradicts what you were saying.
also, different systems and a lot has changed overall since then.

| Yeah exactly. This even apply to 3U, where they add new monsters on high rank, while you clearly implying that in 4U they'll just copy pasta MH4 content and add new stuff on G rank. Transferable save file doesn't really mean anything. | |

| If they were just adding G-Rank, it would be in an update. Online alone is enough reason to give it a standalone release. There's plenty of content they haven't shown yet, I'm sure. | |

| Day 1 for me will be mostly getting used to the new mechanics, studying the new weapons, and starting offline quests as usual. I'll probably be playing solo most of the time, unless I have wifi. | |

Pretty much this. But what can we do. They want this game on handhelds not home consoles.

For me at least, it's the camera. I'm not sure of how good it looks on XL, but the dimensions and size of the 3DS screen don't lend themselves well to something like Monster Hunter, where you need a fluid view of your surroundings.

Its not that bad on the XL, but I agree you just cant beat it being on the TV. I really would prefer a Wii U version over anything because thats how I prefer to play and Capcom is well aware that in the west we prefer to play on the couch then on a handheld if we can.
