NSMBU or Pikmin 3?

Well, I can get a free game for purchasing Mario Kart 8, but I don't know whether I should get New Super Mario Bros. U or Pikmin 3. Pikmin 3 is really short (6-9 hours, with 100% completion) and NSMBU is a multiplayer that can last 26 hours for 100% completion. I'm not sure which game to get. I'm leaning towards NSMBU because it has more content, but I can still be convinced otherwise.

Please choose one game and explain why I should get it. Thanks.

Pikmin 3, since mario bros U is the same as every other 2-d mario game ever, and pikmin is awesome.

Pikmin 3 may be short, but it's still awesome. I'd recommend that. And like Vort said, NSMBU is more or less the same as the other NSMB games except with that flying squirrel power up.

As everyone has said the mario games are much alike.. and they have already announced a new one in development (maybe not a "NSMB" game but a mario game nonthe less), where the pikmin games are much fewer and far between.

Also based purely on looks the Pikmin game looks amazing. It comes closer to some photorealism in some areas than just about any other game so far (any any next gen system). And if you are worried about play time Pikmin has other multiplayer options that extends the playability and how long you can play it for so don't worry too much about that.
