| So if you had to pick one GS what would it be? I ham HR 35 or so and have everything cleared up to Ala offline. I want to make a GS so i can use it on Ala for tails and things.
I was thinking of going after something like Brunhilde or the Pale Kaiser since it can have purple sharpness, has three slots, and seems like it wont be that big of a pain to make.

| I use the rath Gleamsword line (only on bluewing right now.) Might not be the best for Ala, but that weapon lacks in no area.
Chrome Quletus with awakening would be an absolute beast.

| As long as i really like Brunhilde on paper, it's really major pain in the ass to make in the game. It's previous form requires both ian and los mantle which is hard to get. Also there are better poison GS if you're into it, like Merak's Asterism. The only situation which makes Brunhilde shine is being good weapon for gathering sets or capturing sets since it has 3 slots.
If you have to pick one GS (which is highly not recommended way of thinking) it would be Myxo Demolisher. Slime, sharpness, 1 slot. When it comes to ala, Devastator Blade awakened with S+1 and CD works great, but it require good set with awaken so if you don't have it just go with Myxo Demolisher.
In terms of pure raw pick up Nero's Anguish, don't even bother with awaken on this set. Invest in punish draw, crit draw, S+1, focus, rock steady etc.

| Blade of Tartarus...
1344 raw damage, and purple sharpness with Sharp +1.
Personally, I beat Alatreon the first time with Vulcavendeta, with the Lagriacrus set. Awaken, Focus, and Critical Draw and tenderizer. Sharp+1 only increases its white sharpness, so I didn't even go for that. but awakened gives 600+ slime, which worked great in knocking Alatreon out of the sky with the explosions, then getting a good lvl 3 charge in.

| I'll probably never understand how Blade of Tartarus is better than Nero's Anguish. Or even how 1344 beats 1392 raw. | |

| It all ends up being about sharpness. While Cera Cymmetry is the best raw sword in the game with Sharp+1, it only gets a SLIVER of purple. If you don't have Sharpness, it will drop down to white very quickly. You will spend more time sharpening than actually fighting if you want to do constant damage. It also has negative affinity, however, with Critical Draw, and Focus, that becomes a non-issue.
Same thing goes for Nero's Anguish. The purple sharpness is about as big as Cera's, and while it doesn't have negative affinity, it stays at purple sharpness for much too small an amount.
Blade of Tartarus, however, has a good amount of purple sharpness with Sharp+1. So much so, that with H-Jhen set, which comes with Sharp+1 and Sharpness, I rarely have to sharpen when in a group, and I only sharpen when solo after the monster changes zones, just so I don't loose purple sharpness.
Damage wise over the hunt, I pull out much more damage out of the Blade of Tartarus than either Cera or Nero's. Single hit, both of them outdo the Blade of Tartarus.

| cera symmetry with crit draw
Michael Cera
...
or just nero's anguish, basically murders the whole game
tbh i've been using nero's anguish and the purple sharpness usually lasts half the hunt if it's a single monster. That's if you are only doing draws (which you really should if you have crit draw...)
I really think brunhilde and pale kaiser are great though, with 3 slots they are easy to make crazy sets with and pale kaiser especially even has similar purple sharpness and damage to stygian acedia. |

| Unless you're combo'ing, 10 attacks is more than enough for a greatsword. | |

| Just use Cera Cymetry since Alatreon's weakness changes constantly so you'd want the highest raw available. | |

| I have been made fun of cause if i have to pick one GS and ONLY one to use it will be the chrome razor/quietus. I like the way it looks, it numbers are decent, and no element to worry about. What can I say I prefer fluff over crunch. | |
