Alright, Met this sucka for the very first time..

awesomely huge MOFO..

first run, I got whacked to death..

Second run, I didn't get carted once, broke his head, his back, his chest and his right claw... but couldn't kill him and timed out.

so just to ask, what did you guys use to kill him the very first time you met him?

i think you said you are a LS user?
if you have trouble with doing enough dmg don't go for the back break you won't do much dmg as you will constantly be bouncing. while he is wound around the rock just don't hop on him try to either find the right timing to gt the head or stand just beside the platform where you can reach the head from there you can reach it's body.
well otherwise he's most weak to dragon but ice and thunder are OK too so if you have a weapon that has significantly more raw than your best dragon weapon and maybe even ice or thunder element on it use that instead of the dragon one.

weapon bounce on back? hmm, strangely my weapon don't bounce when I wail at his back after I climb him while he is wrap around the stone..

maybe I try not trying to break anything first and just hit him as much as I can and see, if that don't work.. then its time for my DS I suppose

ice or thunder huh? Wikia says he is weakest to dragon but didn't mention ice nor thunder.. hmm...

ok, will check out, thanks..

Dragon is easily his biggest weakness, Stygian Zinogre or Shagaru Magala weapons should be totally sufficient.

What worked for me was going for his claws. They aren't his weakest spot, but they are consistently accessible. Either by climbing his back and going up the mountain, or waiting on the little pedestal where you climb him, and hit the claw. The other advantage of that pedestal is the ability to continually hit him while he is moving across the zone.

When soloing him, it is not about going to the weakest areas all the time, but doing consistent damage.

Also, are you dropping to the base camp and picking up all those bombs? Put them on his head for some good damage

hehe, didn't bother picking those bombs, maybe I should start doing so..LOL..

Aren't that little pedestal kinda risky, he tends to carpet bomb me quite a lot from there..

HOOO AHHHH...

I finally beat the sucka...

and from Hr rank 7, I suddenly bumped up to Rank 62... What the...

well anyway, thegild hall elder guy said I can take G rank quest in dundorma..

I think you can take them in that hall with the singing lady right? problem is, I talk to the counter lady but she keeps saying the counter is not ready or something..

what do I have to do to unlock the G rank quest?
I need to farm some G rank materials to complete my final tier for my LS..

also... is there any better way to farm for heavy armor sphere and True armor sphere?
Thanks

The G Rank elder hall quests appear after you beat the Ukanlos, then you'll be able to visit the elder hall to take on G quests, as for the assembly, that is your arena quests, but you need to complete the subsequent at quests first in order to unlock the G1, G2, G3 arena quests.

The Guildmaster is the gathering hall should give you an urgent quest telling you to slay an Ukanlos.
Once you complete that, you go to Dundorma, and then to the Elder Hall up at the very top of the map (Just follow the large stairs) and there you can take on G Rank quests...

The Assembly is the G Rank Arena hall. That doesn't come unlocked until you qualify for G1, G2, or G3 quests respectively, i.e. You won't be able to undertake G2 Arena whilst G1, etc, unless someone else posts it for you. (Then again I believe some arena quests have an exception that you and your partner need to both be that particular rank, especially for the Apex monsters.)

ahh, i see..

just made a run on ukanlos... pretty much a push-over except that his swim in the ground move seem to home in on you.. making me get hit 7 out of ten times.. thats a bummer..

needless to say, I got owned.. but at least I chop his tail off and chip his face once ( you can chip his face twice , am I right?)

so any tips as to how to better avoid being hit by his "swim in the ground" move, would appreciate it lots

so for your question a few posts back: you can mine heavy armor spheres and often get them in quest rewards. true armor spheres are a little more complicated, you can sometimes get them in GQs from lvl 100-126ish or you can combine them using armor stones and Meldspar ore i think not sure though. (you can get armor stones from the LR Dah'ren event quest)

as for the swiming attack: just walk around it. don't dodge, don't superman dive, just walk around it. it might take some time finding the right angle but the easiest and safest way is to just walk around it (or use a farcaster but that is a dumb strategy)

and yeah his face has 2 breaks iirc

By walk... he definitely means RUN!! heh, With Ukanlos, there is a nice 40-45 degree angle that works great when running. If his face is coming towards you from a 90 degree, once it is about 6+ meters from you (meaning almost on top of you), you run 40-45 degrees and you should be able to avoid the hit. It will take a few tries to find the sweet spot, but once you know it, it is very easy to replicate almost every time.

Also, G rank is not exactly a pushover. All monsters will have at least 1 added move, which makes them more dangerous than normal. It is still fun and an accomplishment. Congratulations again.

i think I really need a video to see what you mean..

just tried again and still getting owned by his swim attacks.. no other attacks giving me huge problems..

arrrgghhhh, I don't remember this guy being so annoying hard to avoid in 3U... but then again, I did stopped it for a pretty long time before 4U..

argghh,

p.s:- any vids to show what you mean in thie 40 to 45 degree thing? I dunno, I tried finding ways to avoid an it seems like whenever he pops up, he randomly pops up at a slightly different spot from where he dug in...

If you use the target cam, make sure you constantly target him... this will put him at the 90 degree angle we spoke about. Keep moving to your left or right at that point, and you get the 40-45 degree angle you need to avoid him. It might be a bit frustrating learning this, but concider it a right of passage. We all had to go through this... except those in a group who would hope they never get targeted or would just Farcast home.

Keep at it. or just do a full run where all you are doing is learning the dodge, and not going in with the objective of killing him. That training helps out a bunch.

Hopefully you will be G ranked very soon.

Happy Hunting.
