| I wasn't convinced when i first first the game revealed however long ago i half expected it to be a hollow shell of it's former glory.
Over the past few years i had not really enjoyed monster hunter as much as i mh3 they all just felt like rehashes of mh3 combat system on top of some games having systems that entirely ruined a game for me.
Likr for instance charm tables that you were locked in to some being worse than others or like how styles in generations felt half assed in my personal opinion, and some were clearly better than others on certain weapons and it was simply foolish to use any other style.
Now fast forward to thos weekend I started the beta skeptical about many things like the ability to toggle damage numbers on or off.
Or how they had changed the armor system where there is no blademaster and gunner sets now it was just one pool for armor.
I was just told how stuff was being streamlined which i felt was making the game more simple when it reality it was not it took actual hands on experience to know what i was getting in to.
Now the run that convinced me otherwise was a duo anja fight in which we took multiple tries trying to kill it it it was not until the final run where we succeeded when i spent two minutes to myself as my friend swapped his depleated weapon and changed his set around where the true potential of the game showed itself to me.
Between using the data from damage numbers to know when i poisoned him so i could swap back to attacking, to my friend using the environment to trap and hurt it as i lured it or kept it aggro'd to me.
Now after all my time playing the beta i can safely say this game is very much so a monster hunter in it's heart and soul and all the changes enhance the game not detract from it it's a very dymamic game that should at least be tried once to see your opinion on the game if you're not convinced.
It might just change your opinion it's not perfect but this is by far the most impressive monster hunter to me since the original and mh3 back in the wii

| Happy you enjoyed the game. While I have the PS4, I didn't play it.
I have seen enough streams to know this is an enjoyable and immersive game. I was never on the fence on this one, but I do like hearing feedback from people to justify my decisions. :-P

| I'm in the same boat. No game in the series since Tri has actually managed to capture my attention and pull me in. However in the short time I've played the beta for World, I've gotten the same feeling that I had when I started playing Tri. All of the weapons handle wonderfully, the environments are gorgeous, and the soundtrack is phenomenal (to say the least). I imagine that when this game comes out I'll be putting at least 100 hours into it, if not more. | |

| Why do I feel like I have no life... I heard "100 hours" and was like... awww so cute... just 100. :-D
Then I looked at myself and thought: "Why do you feel 100 hours is a little bit of time?" Then felt sorry for myself.

| 4U and Generations took my attention for a fair amount of time, but like you guys, nothing on the scale of Tri back in its day. I barely got to play the demo due to work, but I feel like the MH main team struck a damn near perfect balance between the more interesting elements of Gen/XX and the solid, polished Monster Hunter gameplay 4U had.
My only gripes were the item radial wheel and some parts of the HUD/control scheme, but I didn't play around with the settings much; which were decently extensive.
Wondering what the balance between weapon types is gonna be like, since demos in the past have never been a great indicator of strength. (Gen's GL in the demo was outrageously strong, less so in the actual game)

| Oh you could change the item control to be that of past games i changed that every time i loaded the demo. The radial system while interesting felt weird when trying to move and toggle through items that kept being an issue | |

| Well I'm glad to hear this will be a solid MH experience! 4 on the 3DS kind of drained my interest of the series for a while because I just didn't enjoy playing it that platform, but a new release I can hop onto my pc and get into definitely seems worth a shot, especially with the Yuki stamp of approval :3 | |
