Well the fire element beam attack does about 70% of a 140% hp bar, and 95% of a 100% (normal) HP bar. Despite being max upgraded, it doesn't do jack against fire element It's usually very easy to avoid with the other weapons, but for the hammer (since you go for his head), if you are recovering from an attack the beam can sneak up on you (since his body jerks backwards when he shoots it, putting you in the line of fire, no pun intended). :P

Why the hell would you use lagi armour against agnaktor? that just screams suicide to me....you have a massive weakness to fire damage, you didnt seriously expect to survive did you?

Lagi armor is extremely weak to fire. Using it against Agnaktor (or Aggy as I call it) makes no sense, or is just suicide as Spud said. And the #1 rule for fighting Aggy is this: never attack directly from the front unless you want to get really acquainted with its death beam. I always attack the head from the side. Gives you time to dodge and/or block if it turns and starts the death beam.

You should probably try attacking from the side.
Lol i remember usin Laggy armor and being 1 shoted by his rotatory beam, besides every attack he does leaves u on fire, as he is on lava all the time. I really hate how every attack he does burn :S

I just took my ian+ against Agnator.

Just use fire douse berries like normal people, and equip rath armour of any description since they both have high fire res.

Man, I killed him without getting hit once in Loc Lac+ with my Pulsating Core. Just attack from the side...

i fight aggy all the time in Barioth armor with -20 fire res.

I go for everything on him and i just know when to dodge. Sure i get hit here and there and while his armor is on, almost all of his atks are fire, even body checks. But break the armor and it loses some potential threat to your -20 fire weakness.

Aggy really isnt too hard, his moves are readable, just dont do moves you know youll be stuck in for 3-4 seconds before you can dodge, like hack n slash or the hammers triple pound.

Only thing of aggy i find to be hell, is when he does his continuous corkscrew atk where he spirals out of the ground at you and digs again and repeats. That move i find to be his deadliest move to me. The Evasion Up skill immensely helps with that move though.

Heheh, I remember the first time I went against Aggy, I was using Laggy armour too with Sharq Attaq, and everytime he used his firey heat ray of doom I instinctively put up my shield as everyone else ran away. I died. xD

I was like '0.o wtf?!' So I tried again, we severed it's tail, it shot the beam, I died. By this time my team mates were getting pretty annoyed, but we kept going and we managed to get it to area 10. We were really close, and it started using the spinny beam thing, by this time I learnt not to try and block, so I put sharqy away (wow that sounded wrong) and tried to roll out the way. However. I got hit by a stray hammer blow. I was knocked down, got up, thwam. Quest Failed.

I use my lagi+ armor on everything, even alatreon. and I stay alive.

It's only suicide if you can't move.

I personally use Lagi armor with the Sharq Attack lance. Just guard advance to the side when he charges up his doom beam and face him when he digs.

Now, I'm not properly equipped to fight Aggy yet on high rank, but normally I just take out my water SnS and my "all purpose" Ingot+ armor with Mind's Eye gemmed in and whack away at his legs, tail, or chest core thingamajigger. (Also us a +10 fire res talisman putting me at a nice 0 fire res.)

Mind's eye with a high elemental weapon like the SnS pretty much ignores his armor entirely. <3

So fully maxed out Lagi Armor will get you one shotted by Aggy in HR missions? Hmm I dont know about that. I rarely use anything but my maxed out LR Lagi armor gemmed with Attack (M)...might be because I spent all of my Heavy Spheres getting it there but oh well.

Although I could use my Peco+ if I have a good team.
