| The title says it all, guys. I'm in need of some guidance.
So far, I've just started out playing MHFU on my brand new PSVita, and while I've played other Monster Hunter games ( one to be exact ), I'm still fairly new to MHFU.
I've tried out a few different weapons, but I've found that sticking with Longsword is going to do me a hell of a lot more good than any other ones. 'Course I could use the Lance or the Hammer, but I don't think I will until I really need to.
Moving on, I've managed to kill the Giadrome and I've killed the Bulldrome as well. At this point, though, I've come to the realization that having a once upgraded bone longsword isn't going to do me a whole lot of good; I found that out when I tried to hit Tigrex during one of the earlier missions, and was promptly bitch-slapped into oblivion.
My armor isn't helping anything either. So, essentially, I'm just looking for some advice on how to get started, and what armor/weapon I should be using, how to obtain it, or simply where to get the materials I'm going to need. 2* Village Elder Quests, no Nekoht quests, and no GH quests so far.

| welp, if you have problems with tiggy, you just need to be nimble. THe LS is good with that(giving you an opt to dodge and attack at the same time) But for those not used to being nimble, then you gotta grind for it if you wanna win ;P THere're other blocking weaps besides lance | |

| Well, it's like I said though, I'm only on Village Elder 2* quests so far. Only reason I even saw Tigrex was because "Sinking Feeling" is set to make it appear just as soon as you get to the Popo. :c | |

| Well, there's no matter about the Tigrex, really. What I need help with currently is how to finish this Khezu urgent. It's the 2* Village Elder Urgent quest, and I just tried fighting the damn thing and over the span of about 35 minutes, I knocked it over three times, but also carted twice.
Is it at all possible to get high enough in Guild Hall quests to obtain things such as White Death ( the weapon I'm currently working toward ) before you even do Village quests?
'Cause as it stands, Khezu just refuses to die, and likes to shock me down to no potions left. : P

| Yeah...I spent a whole summer fighting khezu xP
Well , white death won't help you with khezu...
Try going out of your way and use heavy bowguns with fire shots.... Then keep shooting khezu at his head which is his weak point. That's how I did it in one try after trying with a DS for a whole summer.

| If you're fighting khezu with a dual sword then I would use the a fire element like the kut ku dual sword, it only has yellow sharpness so you will have to attack the face, but you should be doing that anyways so it is good practice. Or if you are having trouble attacking the face you could use demonization mode for its esp attack so you dont bounce off.
When you are attacking keep in mind that you dodge at 90 degree angles, so if you are attacking the face you should come in from the side so that you can roll forward if you are about to get hit by his ranged attack, or roll to the side so that you can avoid the lightning field. If you are attacking the legs then you just have to make sure that you can roll out towards his tail if he does the lightning field. If you do that and don't get too greedy wit your hits then you shouldn't be hit very often.

| Battle armor will last you all throughout Elder quests. A full set from the equipment felyne goes for 7500z which can be obtained fairly easily. I personally really like LS but if you're having trouble predicting monster movements and dodging then I'd go with things like GL or SnS. Those are 2 good beginner weapons. Also, if you need mats like ores and bugs then WORK TOWARDS UPGRADING THE FARM! The farm is a MASSIVE help in MHFU and can be the source of some very rare materials. | |

| Alright, well, considering I generally despise the Kut-ku, but have had no real problems with things such as the Congalala or the Cephadrome, I think I'll go back to killing it. It's just a matter of actually getting the materials I need as far as that goes.
Also, I'm not sure how to upgrade the farm, because it only shows two upgrades, and neither of them pertain to the things I need as of the moment. Furthermore, I did not find any mining area in the farm; not really anything in it, truthfully.
I was thinking that maybe I should be doing Guild Hall quests, though, because then I'm sure I could get more powerful weapons earlier on. Or... maybe I'm just fooling myself.
Could anyone give me some insight on that? Is there anything that is as considerably difficult as the Khezu in the GH quests? Or am I just going to be fighting things like Rathalos?

There is a giant cave on the left when you enter the farm, go past that and you will find a crack in the wall, that is the mining point. If you have any upgrades for the farm ready, you should get them, there are alot of materials in the farm that are hard or cumbersome to get in the field. Like mushrooms, herbs, power seeds, and flashbugs. The Guild Hall has the same monsters as the village, but they are much stronger. If you are problems with kut-ku with your dual swords then I suggest you use something different, like a hammer, and bring plenty of sonic bombs. Kut-ku equipment are first fire element weapons that you can get, and alot of monsters have weaknesses to the fire element, so you should probably get them.

Turns out that with a bit of determination, plenty of pent up anger and a lot of time, you can kill a Khezu using Giaprey Claws+; I just went in and said, "**** it, I'm going to kill this bitch." 38 minutes and 24 Special DS Combos later, Khezu says "**** this" and dies.
