| First time doing a capture quest.
Spent a good portion of yesterday attempting this one, first time it killed me, second time I killed it, third time I went in ill-equipped... lol
Anyway, my quesiton is that on the second attempt it went to the Jaggi nest in Sector 7 (iirc) and kept sleeping, can I throw a tranq bomb at it then and will it do anything or do I need to wake it, weaken it again until its limping then use a shock (or other) trap? |

| It's rather easy once you've done it the once. Just keep hammering it until it starts to limp and walk away. Let it go to a new area. Go after it and then set down your trap in the new area. When it runs into the trap (be it a shock or pitfall) throw tranquiliser bombs at it (2 or 3 usually suffice).
As far as throwing tranqs at it when it is sleeping whilst resting and not in any trap you set, I don't think this will work. |

| Thanks for that. Thats what I was thinking.
I doubted trying to catch it whilst it slept would work but thought about asking somewhere where someone will have more experience.
In all honesty, my MH experiience prior to buying Tri is probably about 2 hours on Freedom Unite... |

| Waiting until it limps off to go sleep is the best, as you can place a shock trap right next to it and it will fire as soon as it is set (Note that this doesn't work with the pitfall trap). Then you tranq and win! If a monster ever limps off towards it's sleep area I always wait an extra 10 seconds or so to let it crash. Then I head in and set a shock. |

| Ooo that sounds exactly what I need, just tried again and it wouldn't come anywhere near me whilst limping, it would just call for more reinforcements. Will get this one bagged and tagged eventually |

Did it, and used this method. Made sense really, pity the game expects those playing it to be Monster Hunter veterans sometimes though.. |

| well, the guildmaster on the online mode even says there are only some hunters he can rely on for capturing...but, really, once you start doing it enough, it'll become easier than killing a monster... especially ones like diablos that seem to have a crap-ton of HP even after they're ready for capture |

| It doesn't require it, I've got a friend brand new to the series with MHT and he figured out traps in a day. You just need to figure that when a monster is injured and limps off, it doesn't do anything else in a zone until you do something to make it flinch (break something, trip it, para/sleep/stun it). So get to the next zone, and it's likely to want to fight you again or if it's the monster's lair it'll want to sleep if left alone. |

| oh, of course, there is one thing you always have to watch out for when catching a monster... when you set a trap, then it leaves... monsters have foiled my plans that way so many times, all because they stick in one area after they're ready to go, so i figure i can get them in the trap...then they leave the moment i set it /rage |

They sort of do yes, but its a little vague. I always pay attention to this sort of thing in games and very rarely struggle to get the jist of what I'm supposed to be doing, so me asking for help on a forum is a big thing |
