I was thinking, is it worth getting status ailment weapons for G rank? Sure they were great (especially paralysis) in lower rank but what when it comes to the big daddy's?

Paralysis, poison, sleep.
Of the 3, I can only think of sleep bombing as a (semi)efficient way to hunt.
I'm talking about using SnS, and am getting every best elemental weapon out there.
Does poison really do that much damage? And does paralysis really help that much?

its kinda split down the middle. poison and paralaysis( god i can't spell) are more effective in a team setting, but at the same time even soloing it can b useful. sleepbombing is obviously useful but overall is cheap and boring. I prefer powerful raw and element weapons over status weps as i play solo only. it really depends on your preferences, but as a general rule i would go against it if you play solo only, its quicker to just smack em around

in my opinion, since sns has little damage output i'd go for poison but mind you- you need something with the highest poison attribute and not some hand-me-downs since you're gonna encounter G rank monsters. more than 300 poison att is considerably okay but you need to pair up status ailments with status attack up skill to render them effectively. i use the shakalaka saber.. it has the highest poison attack- 500. 560 if you got status att up skill. perfect for black gravios and other monsters weak against poison.

i agree with nasalsniper, paralyze is more for team setup and sleep-bombing is just lame.. but if you have guys lined up using GS with LLBs executing GS charges on the monster's head while it's asleep?? overkill. one of my hunting buddies and me finished a dual rajang quest under 5 mins using sleep knives and GS charges on head at the same time. well the knives were cheated out but it proves one thing, 2 syncronized GS charges will kill rajang when it's asleep (so that's 4 charges basically..)

-used unsheathe skill and ucamulbas GS and rajang armor.
