So im farming a rathain and i end up in teh hidden area ( area 7 cliff) so i start mining and after i finished the quest i find its a tarnish sword ( or something like that just a big rusty great sword). So i got all happy because my luck with rusted/ancient weapons suck so i up grade it and find the next upgrade is an ancient blade. Which i already have >.<. Talk about wasted material. Any one elses luck this bad. And what food combos (to get the skill)l are a sure fire way to get to the hidden areas ?

Tell me about it, at HR 92 I'm still looking for that worn hammer. I have 2 worn SnS and 1 worn lance. Also food combos don't send you there, food skills do. Next time you eat something look for felyne skill "explorer". Eating fresh foods greatly increases the chances of getting that skill.

There is no special food combination that will get you Felyne Explorer 100% of the time...

...however, by eating 2 Fresh Ingredients and having Felyne Explorer as one of the 4 possible skills listed you will have the highest chance of getting Felyne Explorer as a result

Oh yeah. I was doing the poached eggs quest for easy rust/ancient shards. I get the rusted great sword and lance. Already have both of those -_- I want the hammer really bad! I don't care which one right now really!

It's not really food combinations that give you an ability to start at hidden areas, it's the felyne abilities. If you want a higher chance of getting Felyne Explorer, try adding two fresh ingredients to boost your chance of getting that skill.

gosh darnit i swear every single person on these forums that is able too, alrdy has a rusted/worn lance D: they all want the hammer, who cares about the hammer? i have 3 freaking rusted hammers, alrdy upgraded one to the max, on accident, stupid ian ruby, but i still dont have my rusted/worn lance, you have absolutely no idea what fragment of my total playtime hours is offline farming for that rusted lance, i swear, there will be absolutely NO wyvern's left after im done with the poached wyvern egg quest

OT:Explorer, get 2 fresh ingredients, sometimes though, you won't have it, thats k, just try next time, frankly i dont care as long as i get my skills.

frankly though, the volcano doesn't give me enough iron ore to suit my needs, i hardly ever need enough, though flooded forest for bathycite ore though, now that, THAT gives me iron ore need only 2 more actually for one piece of ingot+ armor, then im off getting 2 bird wyvern gems...and sum other thing xD anyway, yeah volcano gives u so much dragonite ore offline its insane, i just sold like 3 stacks of 99, have only like 1 left D:, gets u a pretty good profit, nothing though, like selling a stack of 99 firestones, that is money, i have like 72, pretty soon though, my high rank will pay off, and the skyscraper will be mine muahahahaha
