| First and foremost I need to say that having come from Dota and WoW you guys are by far the coolest online game community I have ever seen.
I am doing ok with this game off line so far with some serious learning as it is my first monster hunter game. (past rathian, farming for the stuff for the second Lagi fight)
My question is how much of a hinderence is it going to be to play online with no voice chat ability?
I would guess that the coordination needed to go after the big boys with any chance of sucess would need it but thought I would at least ask before giving up.
Thanks in advance for any help! |

| Oh yeah, never could stand the WoW community too much. This one is by far better. And it's not as much of a hindrance as you'd think. But I would suggest at the very least a keyboard for convenience. |

| Honestly, only slightly....
There are some advantages to voice chat over typing but for the most part they are only minor.
If you are playing with the same group of friends all the time that I would go with the Wii speak but if you are always with different people... Stick to the key board.
Advantages with the Wii Speak or other voice chat service while playing:
1: You can talk throughout the battle and stratagise much more easily.
2: No need to worry about typing more than one small sentance at a time.
3: You can still work in your inventory while chatting.
4: you can speak to others on different quests than you with voice chat.
5: Easier to explain stuff as you can do it while you are talking and don't have to pose to type each time you learn something new.
Dissadvantages:
1: not everyone has wii speak or other voice chat
2: it takes a minute or two to set people as friends so they can hear you and you can hear them
3: both parties talking to each other must have wii speak or you or they will not be heard. |

So this is going to be an serious noob question but how do you connect a keyboard? In addition to this being my first MH game it is my first real wii game. Can I pull one off my desk top and if so how do I connest it to my wii?
I seriously appreciate the heads up on the voice chat. |

| Heed my words, voice chat sucks, keyboard FTW!
And no, you need a USB keyboard, which your computer likely does NOT have attached to it right now. And you just plug it in the back, and bam! wireless USB keyboards will not work in most cases due to interference and firmware stuff. wired USB keyboard is the way to go |

| There's a USB port in the back of the wii, just attach a simple keyboard to it no special Wii merchandise needed. |
