You can use a save file as long as you've beaten Duke in the final battle. You can make the new game EX from any save file after that. Unless you have all of the Fel Arms I can't really recommend any items in particular to get.

A note about the keep all items perk from new game EX: it doesn't count quest items like the sorcerer's ring but you still keep the attachments. If you don't already know, grade farming is made a lot easier with Rita.

Been putting it off. Currently I have around 4500 without grinding at all...need like 4x that before a new game LOL.

Yes, you can beat Duke multiple times in Tarqaron and you get the Fel Arms each time. However they are useless at the beginning of the new game EX due to your kill count resetting. So in other words, yes you can start a new game EX after stuff in the extra dungeon and the 200 man melee as well (Dhaos Cape FTW).

k cool. I don't really care about fell arms, they are cheap anyhow. Generally the game leans towards dealing less damage and making larger combos instead anyhow. (think about it, you get like no grade if you kill everything instantly cept for a bit of "killed it this fast" grade, which pales in comparison to combo and BA or FS grade bonuses)

True. They do make the 100 and 200 man melees go quickly though. Then again, Yuri and Rita in particular are pretty much one man armies anyway.

You don't have to re-do duke to make a New Game+.

You can make a EX game from a file anytime as long as the file has that on it.

I would invest in cooking a lot during the EX Dungeon (also doing the EX Dungeon) before the 2nd Playthrough.

Like Midnight said, get the Dhaos Cape from the 200-Man Melee, it makes some Secret Missions easier.

I now have everything in the game at 160 hours excluding the 15 hour speedrun achievement.

Once I finish that off, GAME PWNED.

I now have everything possible to have on the game, including all the achievements (low level challenger and the 15 hour speedrun achievement.)

Total game time: 185 hours.

My speed run totalled at 8 hours and 33 minutes.

Killed duke in 15 seconds using destruction field spam. LOL
