Hey all, I've recently gotten back into MHF2. I've been trying to get the first Guild Urgent Quest, but I'm having troubles with the Daimyo Hermitaur. Also, I attempted the Blangonga, but found I was doing very little damage with my weapon. So, this raises my question.

What are the best Long Swords/Bows/Lances I can get early in the game with Thunder or Fire elements? (Note; I'm at the 3 star Chief quests.)

3* elder quests unlock the Eager Cleaver, or at least it does for Unite. Eager Cleaver's a pretty damn good thunder LS.

I've been looking at the Eager Cleaver; I'll update my Iron Katana Grace to Iron Katana Gospel first.

Any fire weapons?

I used Wyvern Blade "Blood" against Blangoga. Keep attacking face and just dodge his snow breath thingy. O.o

Attack Hermitaur's legs and make him fall. Don't attack in front of him or he'll attack you with his claw or water gun.

Thought it was an ice gun. I saw some fairly ice-shard-y looking bits in it.

It gets me how getting hit with his claw throws you forward, even though it moves backwards.

No offense, but Wyvern Blade kinda defeats the point. I mean, yeah, great weapon, but, you need Rathalos and Tigrex parts.

Those are far more powerful than the Daimyo and the Blangonga.
