| http://nintendoeverything.com/73641If this is a fake, fine (and good thing, too) but if not, seriously, what the hell? Does this look like Monster Hunter to you? It to me looks like some completely different game with MH characters thrown in to fool the fans into buying it. inb4dcjdisagrees | |

| Video is not fake, but the way I see it is that Capcom is trying to make MH a bit more realistic?
I think it's like 2 phases. Track down the monster (or lure it to a stable area?), than fight it. That's my assumption on it.
Cuz in the end of the trailer the hunter draws his sword when Los was grounded, after, what I think he did, rendered Los unable to fly far distances.
that's just my observation.
I'm really hoping capcom made this into a 'movie' and kept its original gameplay and making this only a tease. We'll see I guess.
The part where Los breaks the floor, making Tigrex fall is too much of a cutscene to be classified as gameplay.
MH4 is still in development anywas so nyah.

Run like f**k for ten minutes then start fighting? Takes me long enough to kill most bosses already

A Rathalos that can't fly properly isn't a Rathalos.
that's just my observation.

As long as they keep the cats out. Don't want Monster Hunter: The Movie to be something watched by 8 year old girls because AWWW THE CATS ARE SO CUTE NYA =^_^=

Tigrex suddenly losing the ability to grip the floor. How convenient.

| if, IF that type of content is added it at all, my guess would be that it would be single player only, and heavily scripted (as in press ____ button when it shows up), also your hunter uses its hunting knife to stab the los on the back... kinda weak if ya ask me if that disables its flying,. I do not seeing it being part of a multiplayer experience, it would take way too much effort on their part and would be extremely difficult from a technical standpoint for a handheld device no matter how great it is, there are limitations. That kind of scriptng for 4 people all playing over wifi or locally with IR/whatever would be hard. Hell, I've seen issues with scripting like that to a lesser extent on console games on the Ps3, during multiplayer, so that kinda says something.
I don't see it being a staple of the overall experience and would probably only happen every quest or so, or maybe certain urgents/key story points.

| Innovation is great and only works to some degree. The way it is shown in the video, while being still a concept, would be hard to pull off in a multiplayer setting, and if lets say, every time you fought a los in single player you had to do some jump all over the place, get on its back blah blah blah, you too would get tired of it when farming for dem plates. | |

| I never said it wouldn't work. If you read what I said it would work, but would probably be limited to single player, also I said it might get limited to specific quests, otherwise the repetitiveness of doing that every time just to fight a monster would get really really old.
However, I said it wouldn't work in multiplayer, that I am fairly certain of.

| Actually, I see plenty of multiplayer opportunities. One player could be the distraction, luring the Monster to the correct area, while the rest of the party sets up traps. I doubt there will be one single way to take down each monster. The environments appear more open world this time around, so there may be more emphasis on tracking down the monster, and getting it to the right position. | |

| I think this could up the difficulty and fun of MH a BAJILLION times if done correctly and I will personally be getting a 3DS just so I can play this and TG. If MH4 IS a failure and they screw it up we can always just pull a lagi and go back to TG. | |

| im just curious, why is everyone acting like we clipped rath so he cant fly (/far) anymore? i keep watching the trailer and i see him jump on him, grab him, rath falls to the ground (and i mean really, what doesnt?), gets stabbed a few times then shaken off. nowhere does it hint he can no longer fly. | |

| This game looks really fun. It looks to bring a whole new style of play to monster hunter, adding more strategy to the hunting part i.e. having to gain a geological advantage, instead of just locating the monster and kicking the shit out of it. i'm not getting what everyone is saying about it being heavily sequenced. just because he jumped on his back and stabbed him doesnt mean he cant fly. It just looks like he got flinched out of the air. I like the idea of having to lure the monster to an area as well. This game seems to put more of an emphasis on the hunt. I also agree that this game looks single player only. I just dont see this working with 4 hunters running around, climbing cliffs and jumping off ledges. The monster would only be able to follow one of you... how ever it also doesnt look extremely scripted like others have said, at least not in the sense of have to press specific buttons at specific times to active a sequence. most of the vid is just him being chased and jumping of giant pillers. climbing on a wall to jump on raths back looks just like a new game mechanic, similar to applying a ko or trapping him, just more advanced and looks like it takes more skill. all in al looks pretty sick. I may end up geeting a 3DS with all these cool games coming out. | |

| sarcasim starts now....
You all remember how in one of the older MH games it shows one hunter running as he is being chased bt a rathalos, then suddenly he jumps over a rock and there were gunners hidden behind it waiting to attack... Well we all know we could do that in the actual game so it's safe to assume everything in the MH4 video (concept) is 100% going to be in the game and wasn't put there just to look good. We all know teailers and previews and concepts a year away from the actuall game wont change and it will be just like that in the finished project... We aloso know that if something works just fine it shouldn't be changed or ever attempted to be improved upon. oh no.. that would be horrible..
any ways, i'm going to go be upset at pong because it's not on the system i want it on.
end sarcasim. | |

| I hated to watch the trailer at first. Pessimism got the best of me after viewing it.
I doubt, however, that Capcom would drastically change the gameplay of Monster Hunter. If what the trailer demonstrates is, in fact, gameplay, then I'm sure it will only be a small part of the hunt.
What thows you off is the many sequences that seem to be designed with 3D in mind. That, and that they used the actual running animation for the trailer.

Hahahahahaha! Yeah, screw inovation and any way to make gameplay more interesting. No thread is complete without some moron misinterpreting everything. And my biggest gripe regarding that whole 'run away from the monster until you can finally start attacking it' is that you are not going to appreciate it when farming that certain monster for parts, at all. I'd rather not spend an extra 8 minutes going through a lengthy scene just because I was 2 Rathalos Scales short of his longsword, thanks.
