I don't know what weapon would be good so I tried 3 weapons SA,lance, and hammer.Which one do you like the best?

SA:
This weapon is pretty fast and does lots of damage so I like that.
Lance:
I like this weapon because it's fast and I like the charging attack.
Hammer:
I like this weapon because it does a lot of damage and for me it's faster to kill monsters with.

DPS: Lance
Mobility: Lance & Swax
KO Awesomeness: Hammer
Preferences: Cannot compute.

Out of the 3, I like the swax the best, but I still get a lot more done with the lance though.

Sometimes I wish there was more Swax's in this game.

Depends on what you want to do. The Switch Axe is a nice tailcutter because of its reach; The Hammer is the only weapon that can deal consistent KO damage; it's the Lance, though, that is considered the best overall weapon.

It's about experience. You see, every single weapon can do lots of damage. Use it properly, and it will be devastating. You shouldn't use the charge attack though. It's highly annoying in online; wastes stamina and sharpness; and doesn't do all that much damage.

EDIT:

Mobility: Lance

Excuse me, kind sir, but I beg to differ. Even Evade Lancing feels clumsy to me in a way. Besides the hammer is a lot more mobiile than the lance, since you can kind of run with it unsheathed.

Switch Axe is really fun to use, but really, whatever you enjoy using the most, use that. The lance has the highest DPS, but who gives a crap about DPS? Certainly not me. Plus, your DPS won't even be that high if you use the weapon improperly instead of a weapon you're more comfortable with. Personally, I just use every weapon I can. It's fun to mix things up.

I prefer to lance, most newbies use it now a days for being cautious...
it kan KO monsters, cut tails, block, evade, and counter attack
the only draw back is the amount of time spent on the floor due to accidental tripping...

you also hav the option to evade lance (which takes practice) or counter lance (which require reading monster movements ;))

oh and dont lance charge unless theyre trying to get away or wanna troll someone...i get tired of lancers trampling me while hitting the monster....

other than that, the weapon preference is really up to u

I like them all.
cant pick which is better because we all play different, besides why focus on one of these if one is better?
Its more fun to try and play with them all o.ob
But as for damage it would have to be lance with its piercing/impact damage switch ability, completely overpowered...but who's argueing.

Sir, I politely down your opposition.
:D
Being able to move around via evading after every attack is damn good mobility.

well lance is cool, and secure, best way to face a monster for the first time, and a good weapon to master!

I really couldn't choose between the three they are all good in the right situations. For me hammer was the weapon I picked up the fastest of the three. Use the weapon you have most affinity towards the one that seems more natural for you to use.

Lol I have only one issue with this Topic that the opinions are going to vary Yes lance has good DPS but it can be a really hard weapon to master. It's not very mobile when you counter lance then you have to deal with stamina which get's depleted quickly. Most new lance users I have met including myself when I first started just keep their finger on the guard button and stab then go back to guarding causing minimal damage and inch their way to the monster that is far away also reducing the amount of damage they produce that hunt. Lance is great but I don't find it a good beginners unless they are planning on playing offline first if you pick lance.

Barioth+ on lance fixes the mobility problem, because of the skill evade dist up which affects the lance hops by tripling their length. Low rank barioth can be effective with its Marathon runner if you have trouble with its stamina, while keeping the evade+2.

I wonder is there is a low rank mix of giggi and barioth. That would help a lot since constitution reduces the amount of stamina lost when you guard and evade which would be great for lance with the added bonus of most likely evade+1

I like all weapons TBH. Each weapon class give you an strategy to work with. For example i like using hammer for gigginox, rathlos, Ian, Barroth, G Jaggi, barioth. i love how their heads are big and low <3

I don't think you can get a C+10 00 in low rank....right?

But constitution is a pretty bad skill anyways, especially on lance. If you run outta stamina, just block and creep forward. If you guard-advance through most attacks, you'll take less stamina damage. If it really becomes a problem, dash juice?

you kan get a c +10 2 slot tali in low rank....but itll be as rare as god talis if not rarer
as for constitution...i kinda facepalm'd, having guard +1/2 or evade +1/2 is waayyyy better

In my opinion, I would have to pick the hammer, (I like Swax also! :D) anyway, i dont like lance cuz I never use it, when I do, I die :I I even went on an arena quest, Great Jaggi, and I decided to use lance
.
.
.
Quest Failed!
Lance sounds and looks fun to use, but I just cant use it cuz im still learning to use a hammer, and I might anger myself and the ppl I play with to the max level if I keep carting, missing the monster, or keep getting hit. /versad/ /versad/

Instead of using a set with constitution you could just use dash juice or mega dash juice to have temporary unlimited stamina. It takes awhile to stockpile a decent stash of dash extract to make them but its very useful for lancing (especially evade-lancing) and frees up slots for other skills.
