(Where the hell did "deadly er" come from? He said that mega ala is like Jhozilla but deadly, (meaning that jhozilla isn't deadly) then upon reading his sentence, he followed up with "er" after realizing that the Kelbi-drome is far superior to either of those monsters.

The Binocudrome Does not exist. It never has, the guild deemed it too mighty of a monster to have ever existed.

Event Alatreon is bigger and hits harder, but if you are used to hunting Alatreon it shouldn't take more than twenty minutes on a team that knows what they doing. Also helps to have a good hammer or a clust/status gunner on your team to help speed up the process a bit.

| There is a legendary creature that only appears to those who think they are ready when they are not. The inexperienced hunters become excited and eager to embark. They hear stories about this beast from the veterans who have fought the fiendish creature first hand and lived to tell the tale. The veterans warn the novice hunters they know not what they attempt, but the brash novices scoff at the cowardly veterans. They embark on their quest and discover the horrible truth. The lucky few who survive the harrowing ordeal are changed forever. Fearing the day they may once again be called upon to try and slay that fearsome beast.
Rumble in the Great Desert is the closest an event comes to scaring me. Everyone and their pig thinks that they're ready for it, but usually they just reached hr 31 and have no idea what they're getting themselves into.

| Some decent non-combo armor sets with good defense to wear for ala are: Qurupeco Armor, Uragaan Armor, Agnaktor Armor, and Jhen Mohran Armor (includes +/-). These simple armor sets are good in terms of DEFENSE (including fire/dragon resistance). Other sets like ceadeus-combo armor and jho armor are good, too, but you have to be good at dodging the dragon attacks or you'll die fast because most of its attacks are dragon type. I see some players get Dober Armor, but +40 dragon resistance is unnecessary and I dodge the dragon attacks more often than the fireballs (the skills from the dober armor kinda suck). The ala sometimes instantly uses fireball, which is harder to dodge than a charge attack or a claw slap. Fire resistance is generally more important than dragon resistance, for me, unless it's jho. It's funny when I see someone with Dober Armor die from a fireball (it has -10 fire resistance, which isn't bad)...They underestimate the power of ala's fireball from judging the weak dragon attacks due to having +40 dragon resistance.

Dragonblight decreases your affinity. Oh... /scar/ ...the wrong stat...yeah, that makes sense 0.0 If it was defense it would be harder...lol (ONLY FOR BLADEMASTER) To add to the posts about armors: Armor defense is important, with 150hp, if an attack takes at least 70% of your hp, your armor is too weak. However, it's not impossible to fight with weak armor (in terms of defense), someone could solo jho without getting hit at all, it's just super pro. However, I didn't see anyone solo ala without getting hit at all, yet. For gunner, just don't die; there's gonna be certain attacks that can KO you though, depending on your armor. Just don't get hit by those certain attacks. I remembered one time when a gunner, with 15% hp, had to dodge three charge (when it runs) combo from a diablo...what a pro. After the 3 charges, the diablo was out of energy, LOL!...so it stood in disappointed. Monsters usually don't focus hunters (especially gunners) that much, unless the hunter is near death or is cornered. I remembered when I used poison sns in arena uragaan, the head slam+rock explosion would kill me in one hit, so I had to not get hit by those attacks at all costs. I got twice less of the S rank time requirement (less is good) and, of course, no deaths. The shield did help...and I think I poisoned it 4-5 times. It's easier to survive with evade+1/2, good defense, and good resistance. Guard boost is kinda meeeh...

| If using a lance then guard boost is rather handy to block the fire ball and some other attacks, and with evade+2 and evasion up if preferable makes ala so easy defence isn't needed.
And resistance does pretty much bugger all, it affects blight resistances not damage, so having +40 dragon resistance will nearly negate dragonblight, if not completely. So resistance will determine nothing as blights are more of a slight hindrance.
And when in the end game at ala high rank armors have such high defence it will hardly make a difference between 30-40 points, and it only applys if you're hit.

Untrue in general. I know on some attacks, elemental resistance can make a big difference in initial damage taken. Attacks I've found where elemental resistance makes a substantial difference in damage are agnaktor's fire beam and ceadeus water beam. If we are talking alatreon specifically, I've never tested it. I speculate monster attacks, like elemental weapons, have elemental components and raw components. Continuing to speculate, the alatreon's dragon charge I bet is mostly raw, whereas the beams are mostly elemental, based on my observations. straight-up defense is good even against an attack that is mostly elemental. 300 defense 0 fire resist wiil take less damage from a firebeam than 150 defense, 0 fireresist.

| I rather sacrifice guard boost for sharpness+1 or evade+1, just saying. I usually only use evade up for travel. You can guard the ala's fireball's aoe, just not the direct hit (when fireball is in air). A simple back hop (or walking around) and guard should guard 90% of ala's fireballs, without needing guard boost, sometimes 100%. Hell, you might be able to turn around and guard and you'll be okay, if you don't take the direct hit. (the aoe animation starts from the circumference of the radius, and then it closes inward to where the fireball landed) I only like guard boost against lagiacrus, with guard+2 on lagiacrus armor, but not enough room for the skill points...I think. Agnakator's beam is easily evade-able. Guard boost just isn't the "best" choice of skill to focus on. | |

| I was pretty intimidated by the Megatreon, and rightly so! On my first attempt, two people abandoned after 48 minutes, and me and the other guy who stayed managed to kill it with 2 minutes to spare ;)
World Eater just excited me more than anything. The idea of fighting an even bigger Deviljho sounded like really good fun :D
