EV training legitimately up to level 100 can get really boring. Almost everyone who's in to competitive play gens pokemon anyways, you're getting the same result but without the hours needed for EV training without pokesav.

What's pokegen?
I know it's a noobish question but I don't know much about pokemon other than how to battle...

I'm guessing it's either some type of Online Simulator, or another term for Action Replay.

I guess I train with both Action Replay but at a legitimate stand. I kinda hack IVs on a Pokemon and then breed them to make legitimate, high IV stat Pokemon. It's perfectly fine, but also worth saying to a opponent just for clarification.

I still legitimately hunt Pokemon with good IVs, but it takes so much time (even though I don't mind the effort of legally finding them) and EV training is what I'm more or less better at, but I can never make a good team because I always choose what I like, other then what fits.

This. I EV'd my Axew on lv3-5 Pokémon near the starting town. It took about half an hour with one of the EV boosting items from the Subway and then I was done. EVing is really not hard at all if you use your head.
