I have just defeated it in Level 3's Playing with Fire, and I am wondering if they will appear on Deserted Island - I am hoping to farm them to make the Qurupeco Armor.

Man, it is a big upgrade from the Great Jaggi! On my first carve from it, I got a Qurupeco Feather and some Raw Meat (I've got enough of that...)

Qurupeco will begin to appear on the island although I don't recall which quest it is you finish to make it happen.

In the end you will fight Great Jaggi, Qurupeco, Royal Ludroth, Rathian, Rathalos, and Lagiacrus on the island IIRC.

I think it appears in D. Island after you capture it in "Trapping the Trickster"

I beat playing with fire and the chief's son said that I could find a queropeco in the moga woods (D. Island) If you beat playing with fire just check the moga forecast each day, it should turn up. I still haven't done trapping the trickster, I'm too busy to bother with capturing that oversized chicken!

Personally, I thought I'd cut off both of Quru's "rooks" - namely both Great Jaggi (slaying those two turkeys is now old hat...), when I faced Quru, it reared back for its roar, and I was thinking "Who you gonna call? Because that number won't work!"

It let out a completely different roar, and fifteen seconds later, RATHIAN was breathing down my neck!

I wonder if Quru can call even worse in an "unstable environment..."

you can also just do the mission over and over and get more matts from the quest rewards.

Doing the quest over and over again could yield more mats than just killing them in the woods.

There should be a quest called "trapping a trickster" which requires you to trap Quru in D.Island. I recommand you do that one if you want to farm its armor offline =D
