Best Bowgun to Go With Rathian Set?

I'm trying to get an Ian gunner set, so would someone like to tell me the best bowgun to go with it? I'm mainly a support gunner, if it helps?

Are you trying to get high rank ian gunner, or low rank?
If you're getting high rank i would suggest:

Thundacrus rex frame
Either jhen cannon barrel or light bowgun barrel (probably jhen cannon)
Chaos wing stock

If you are low rank I would suggest waiting to get to high rank before getting a status gunner set. (thats just me though, you wouldn't have too)

Just to let you know, Recoil is probably the best skill you can have for a status gunner.

A supporter gunner isnt a status gunner :P
Supporter gunners heal their team,use buffs,set traps, apply status and can deal decent damage. Its kinda freestyle gunning :3
Rathian isnt a good set, high and low rank for a gunner. The earplugs dont have much use for a long range wep like a gun and the demonic blessing can get a gunner one shotted, with their already low defence (half that of the blade verson)
But yeah, if you are low rank do pick up a gun when you reach high rank. Not only are the guns better, the armors better and skills more gunner orientated but the ammos are easier to pay for too.

Don't use rathian armour. Just... don't.

I'm an offensive gunner I do not recommend rathian armor in the least bit if you want to gun I recommend any armor sets that have shot boosts, recoil+x, steadiness, element attack up, or bonus shot.

What do you guys suggest I do instead for low rank-ish armour? I'm only HR 16, so should I just wait to get any armour?

rathian gunner set really isnt a good set in general, if ur support gunning i would suggest nox, lagi (cuz of the slots), peco, or alloy. try to get speed set-up in da armors too, it halps ;)

Gigginox Peco diablos or lagi.

the best skill in rathian armor is earplugs, but if you are a gunner there's a high chance that you are far enough from a monster, so the scream won't reach you.
this said, rathian gun armor is kinda useless, I ended up using it only against rathian itself and mostly for the lolz, the gun I use with it is jaggid fire/thundacrus/chaos wing

Once you're HR18, hunt diablos and go for its armour. Before then, something like peco is much better than rathian.

imma say gaan, it has recoil+ and can mix well with the gaan+ as well

So I'll probably end up doing them in the order of Peco -> Diablos -> Lagi?

Or does Lagiacrus come before Diablos/Monoblos?

lagi comes first, and unfortunately there's no Monoblos
