Best armor sets

Hey, I was wondering, what are some of the best armor sets in the game?

If you're looking for more generic, and overall potent in about every quest kind of armours than Full Vangis or Helios/Mix will most likely be the "best" sets.

There are many customizations though to fit a weapon's playstyle, but those 2 sets overall will do well with any weapon.

Both sets have Sharp+1

Vangis gives an extra decent boost in attack with its natural AUM, and 3 slots.

Helios/Mix allows 5 slots (6 actually, but 1 slot is needed for a handicraft jewel, although you can opt to use a weapon's slot or talisman) with High Grade Earplugs.

Vangis set usually you'd use the 3 slots on the greaves for an Onslaught jewel to get Attack Up (L), and a good talisman would likely be a Perception +10 with a slot (2 isn't necessary) for a Hungerless jewel to take care of the Raise Hunger. The Perception points give you Capture Guru, which synergizes well with Autotracker. You could also use an Evade +7 OO talisman and a Lightfoot jewel for Evade +1, although you'd still have Raise Hunger unless you forfeit the Attack Up (L).

Helios set requires no gemming. Just use low rank vambraces and coil and you have Sharpness +1 and HG Earplpugs with no negative bonuses. I believe it also leaves you with enough slots for any C skill.

You'd only use an onslaught gem in full vangis if you have a godcharm of some sort. Typically it's a much better idea to use, say eva+6 alongside a lightfoot and evade jewel in the vangis greaves to get AuM and evade +1. It's certainly a much much better combination than settling for AuL and a garbage C skill. It's also worth noting that you can swap out the vangis belt for helios+, which gets rid of raise hunger (but also demotes autotracker to detect). And even with the most ghetto evade charm, you can still have a pretty good vangis+evade mix on your hands.

And the helios/vangis mix (H+/H+/H+/H/V head/chest/hands/waist/legs) is just outright better than H+/H+/H/H/H+. Same skills but more sockets. And again, settling for a C skill is a waste when you can have something like AuL as your third skill.


The oft-maligned regular earplug helios mixes are also important. A very simple one is Helios+ Mail with torso up x2 (both overforged and HR helios greaves also work) which gives sharpness +1 and earplugs for only 3 equipment slots and one jewel slot. One with less customisation (but very strong) vangis gauntlets and helios+ everything else. Sharpness+1, earplugs, 6 slots and half of AuS is a pretty good deal. Both of these are a great foundation for a GS or hammer set when HGE isn't required.

If you manage to find the fabled attack+6 OO charm, then I've got a fantastic little set using Lagi+ and Vangis.

Attack+6 charm with 2 slots (With two Handicraft jewels).

That gives Attack up Medium, Element Attack up and Sharpness+1, with no downsides. If you have a weapon slot, you can get detect on there too.
