| So, I've killed Alatreon three times; two of those times I got tail carves. First time, I got an Azure Dragongem. Second time, just plates and stuff. What I don't understand is how I get something that is a 4% chance, and not the tails ( which I need ) which is 58%
Is the game trolling me again, or what's even happening?
-_-
Wish me luck trying to get 2 Skypiercers, eh?

| Seems like it. Maybe if I start wishing for Azure Dragongems it'll start giving me tails instead. | |

If you cover your head with tinfoil the desire sensor can't read your brainwaves. It's true. /yes/

| I never really bought the whole 4% Azure Dragongem chance thing. Near the end of my last time playing Tri (before my Wii became all stupid) I was rolling in them. When I was hurting for cash, they were the first things I sold. | |

| Azure dragongems aren't even that important really, you need it to upgrade some of the best weapons in the game sure, and then to make the Alatreon armour (but... why would you) but that's pretty much it as far as I'm aware.
Los plates are more valuable since it's used for a very good armour set pre-Vangis/Helios and you also need 5 of the damn things for a bowgun piece I believe, which is also widely used.
That and Los armour looks way cooler than Alatreon armour.

| Well, Ataraxia, it's funny you say that because in the past few days, I've got more Los plates than I have Alatreon tails. :c
I even got a Rathalos Ruby, and I still haven't got any Alatreon tails. Ridiculous.

| Yeah... Dem tails man. Why do lances need more tails than other weapons? THA HAIL? T_T
I know, EXACTLY, what you mean. Which makes me wonder, why did Capcom put a rarity cap on gift-able items?

Because then: Player A gives player B 10 skypiercers Player A logs off without saving Player B saves Player B gives player A 10 skypiercers Player B logs off without saving Ta-Da, the game no longer has any rare items because you can just dupe everything!

Ta-Da, the game no longer has any rare items because you can just dupe everything! People do that? D: But seriously....yeah.No one would have to work for anything.Although,it's sort of like that now....which is why I'm being more selective with who I help. OT:Just keep farming. The rarity drops seem to be different for everyone, from what I've seen.No clear rarity drop %.I can do ten Ala runs, with broken horns,on Nep and not get a single piercer.Do the same ammount as Mia,and get around four or five.

| The desire senor has been kicking my @ss lately. I set my goals on the Clusting set. Need 2 lagi plates. Which I got commonly but i didn't have any. I start hunting him. Instead of his plates, i get his Sapphire. =.= And i wasn't even surprised because I get Lagia's stuff easily.
As for Ian's plates....Same old stuff. Never happening.

| When things like this happen, I consider myself to be having a lucky day. Even though I didn't get what I wanted, I got something rare. I may need the rare stuff later, and now I won't be mad when I don't get it, as I'll already have it.

SO yeah...just having to keep capping I know of a way you can trick the Desire sensor. It's very simple, and hilariously efficient. Whenever you cut the tail, injure a part of the body or get an irrelevant carve, you go "YEAH!" and then all of the sudden the game is giving you the mats you want, and you go "YEAH!" and it'll give you a different mat, and you go "YEAH!" and then in the item box you'll have more required mats. That's when you can stop going "YEAH!" until the next run. Works like a charm, for me.
