First topic message reminder :

this gen of mh games has had a thing called events that occur every day periodically or in this case by download. so far so good. but heres the catch, instead of the cool things u get in events in japan, we get boring stuff. for example i wud prefer having a tessaiga from inuyasha (actually quite famous in my country) than a triangular (kinda) blade with a blue circle that i dont think is even a reference to anything. and i think they (you know who) are gonna do the same thing again. who would trade sgt. gero mask for something else? are u with me or do u prefer otherwise

Eh, I'm fine either way. Event weapons are a pain for me since I am rarely able to play (excluding summer) when the quests are around. So, yeah.

and i bet u (all) wouldnt like if they took away the chainsaw sword when they release this in the west for a drill katana

I wouldn't care, but if that drill katana spins when doing the spirit combo, I'd love it forever.

i had the brains to check what were the events b4 posting, the chain sword was an example and i knew i wud regret not stating later.
a thing i support would be nice replamentes for them unlike what they did with the cold call one (really wtf is that??).

Eh, I could care less if they scrapped the quest entirely, Longswords(and 95% of people who use them) suck anyways.

Jerks Q.Q I main longsword D:

Okay in all seriousness I do main longsword and I definitely try to use it smarter than most of the players most of the players that use it. I have been using it ever since monster hunter freedom unite tri tarnished longswords name with all the horrible players that used them. It's easy to use yes but hardest weapon to master in a team enviroment because of the range it has.

All weapons are good weapons.. Not all users of that weapon are good. I think the maint thing to remember is to give everyone a chance.

I used both wiimote and classic controller pro wiimote was definitely much smoother than classic controller. Also a longsword user should be switching between combos and using fade slashes to continue your attack, and set yourself accordingly to where the monster is while making sure to minimize how much you disrupt your teamates.

By moves he means tilting the Wiimote to do different techniques. Instead, the Classic Controller Pro uses a similar set up to a 360 pad.

LS should be a 'tip hit' weapon because then you have lots of flexibility in moving around the monster with wonderfully timed fade slashes.

No one uses fade slashes though.

If you don't use fade slashes you suck at LS?

I don't see how wanting to use one of the highest DPS weapon is noobish either.

No you dont. You main Hammer. You switched to longsword because of nostalgia problems. you will forever be better with hammer than you are with longsword. Deal with it.

DPS is a dumb term for Mon Hun.

This is not an RPG, you can't just click on an enemy and start mathematically dishing out damage over time.

Your damage output is how well you are able to stay in a fight with a monster mixed with where on the monster your weapon can land it's hits. A hit in the head is almost always going to do more damage than a hit in the foot.

You also have to look at things like who can punish roars, who can evade close to the monster, what stats are added to you, how often do you stop to sharpen, what affinity do you have- the list goes on.

Even Jhen, who is a giant hitting wall only has certain openings.

While you are right IMO, DPS is perfectly legitimate as a term-it stands for Damage Per Second, and this IS a combat video game when you get down to it, so there is number crunching to be done, stigma attached to a term or not.
