After the first song, if you hit R then you will do the second portion of that song which is usually the same buff for most songs. If you're holding the directional pad backwards you will do a back swing like he did. If you hold it to the side its a different animation.

im wondering why weakness exploit works well with weapon with negative affinity. The barroth version has 25% affinity minus which means if with exploit it will only cut out 5% and left 20% negative?

Weakness Exploit and affinity deal two different aspected damage.
Weakness Exploit increases the monster's hitzone by 5 if it's weak in that zone(45% hitzone)[Unsure if this is correct or not]. Affinity cuts 1/4th of your Raw damage whenever it activates.

I tested with self improvement 2 notes then play again it automatically moves backward without me holding the pad and a 4 note song Hearing L play the second time which will redirect base on the pad direction u're holding. yeah it swings like the video above when I hold backwards but it only works when the second recital is bump frontward with the HH otherwise it will go a horizontal directional swing combo.

You can also do that move by holding back on the directional pad and pressing X+A.

im using the sandsoother because it has the most raw power among HH

Sharp + 1

Does the 25% of negative affinity affect much on this horn?

-25% of affinity means that every forth hit (on average) does 25% less damege (the debuff is aways the same no matter how much affinity you have). all in all this means that every forth hit only does 931 raw damage (as  base attack power of your weapon, the dmg you actually deal to the monster is different, but i assume you knew that). considering this your weapon has an average raw power of 1009 (not the 1242 it initially has).

but with the high elemental dmg i'd say it's still a pretty good HH against monsters that are weak to ice.

Who cares?
if it has decent power and a lot of water shots use it.

as Long as you aren't doing "professional" speed runs (which by the questions you ask i'm not sure you are ready for) it doesn't matter too much if your weapons or armor are "the best". though there is definitely no "best" armor or weapon!!! which is best strongly depends on your preferences and skills.

they are quite rare but you can get then in pretty much every g-rank area. i'd recomment using the explorer skill as the bug spots in secret areas usually give rarer items. best would maybe be Deserted island (secret area, and areas 1-5), Volcano (secret, 1+2) or flooded forrest (secret, 2, 4, 7, 10)

volcano usually has the best items, but DI and FF have a lot of bugspots that can give them. i'm not exactly sure though which exact spots in these areas give them. and as i said you can also get them from every other region so always bring you bug nets and just hope you get lucky

Got really huge problem guys. I started second file, female, table 5.

Beat village to Ceadeus, fully upgraded all boats.

Beat Miralis online.

Now here's the deal - I'm trying to get Artian X armor. No matter where I send my boats I always ends up getting only Rusted Fragments. Already tried kelbi horn save manipulation method for like straight 1-2 days and every single fragment was rusted. Same happened today when I was trying to get Large Fragments which are a lot easier to get than Long.

My question is - what's going on? Is this table cursed for fragments or what? Maybe it's because I didn't clear whole Village?

On my 1st file I got all fragments pretty easy even without kelbi horn abuse method.

getting fragments hasn't anything to do with the charmtable. the charmtable only affects which talismans you can get.

getting large/long fragments is only depentend on chance. there's a certain fixed propability to get them for each destination, that determines if you will get one or not.

according to the MHDex there seems to be a certain level recirement. it sais beneath lvl28 you can only get rusted fragments from lvl28 up you will get the other fragments. i'm not sure though as to which lvl this referes to i kinda doubt though that it is the HR.

I thought there was one table that prevented a player's ability to get Rusted Fragments?

Actually all cursed tables prevents player from getting any rusted fragments, I heard. So yeah it's kinda table related.

@DanielisAwesome52: Thx for clarification. It's a bit cheap that game literally forces you to complete pretty much whole village if you want get that armor. It's the same as with Evasion+3 jewel which you can only get from HR Lagombi (village exclusive).

Honestly I hate playing with anyone who hasn't completed the village, its kind of a test of skill because despite village quests being a bit easier than their port counterparts, you can't boost off of other players, you HAVE to be good enough to get them done.

Can anyone find out what skills and mask are his cha cha/kayamba using?
I often notice them using explosive on the azure . I dont think it's the artillery mask though
I'm also trying to look for more pros using the HBG. I've seen some they are mostly in japanese
title in youtube difficult to find.

Does that include completing Mark of a Hero and The Brilliant darkness? Those quests are tough for even the most seasoned Hunters from Village only quests.

PostSubject: Re: Monster Hunter U Q&A thread   Wed Apr 30, 2014 11:29 am

its a preference thing, I mean it took me a while into G to find a way to beat Mark of the Hero, but I had literally every other village quest beaten, every villager request, every farm upgrade, plenty of resource points stocked up before I started G rank in the multi/online port.

Its not like you need to be a pro hunter to use the online, just basic competence ie knowing how important armor skills are, knowing not to bring a fire weapon to a fire type monster (or even at the least to the same monster you made the weapon from) or just what kind of items to bring to what kind of monster

I think the low rank village kinda gives a decent tutorial if you play it all the way before hunting with others, there're things you pick up soloing most of the monsters (subs and harder monsters kinda need the pre-existing knowledge of the LR ones) that you just don't in groups. The supply boxes give you an idea of what works on what monster (even shot wise) and just undertaking a mission where you can't sit back at all lets you take in alot more useful info about each monster.

I'm with Daniel on this one. The "problem" a lot of times is that

Regardless of how short of a time or long of a time you have been playing MH, the Village quests can teach you a lot and get you some items that you can't get online. (Shaka Masks and Argosy items) The village helps you learn about each new MH game and about the monsters in it and if you in a good orderly mix of Village and port all the way up to beating the village than moving on to Grank, you pretty much have all theitems, challenge progression and armor/weapon meterials you need while learning more about the game and becoming a better player. This also helps with anyone you play online with because you become a member of a team more easily and not a burden.

Can rage mode G-rank Narga be pitfall trapped? The last 3 times I've tried he's done his little side jump straight out of it, but the trap itself has gone off.
