I'll get to the point.
This guy likes to combo me like no other, not even Alatreon is this bad. With my Ceanataur Z set, I get 580 defense. Tigrex doesn't give a ****.
Most I've gotten to is either breaking his head or de-tailing him. And as I learned in Low Rank, gunning him is pretty much a no-no unless you REALLY know your shiz.

Best LS I have is the Exceptional Hornfly Saber, best Blademaster armour is Ceanataur Z.
I really do not want to go for Hermitaur Z, because apart from lower defense Guts is practically useless against Tigrex's sheer combo storm.
Best Gunner set I have is probably my AutoReload set (Death Stench S with Melahoa Flower "Helm" Z). I'm currently working on the Gaoren Orb, and in the meanwhile my strongest guns are the Lao-Shan Cannon (High Rank) and Gaoren Fire.
I could use Narga S as an alternative.

I bet this is because I've lost practise...

Well I have not reached that part yet but it seems the game is just screwing you to see if you can beat a totally badass overpowered monster even if you have good armor.

Thanks for telling me I know my shiz... I use the bow on all of the Tigrex I face.

On-topic: If you are a blademaster I wouldn't suggest even TOUCHING him in rage mode, and if necesarry leave the area until he isn't in rage mode. It hurts when he hits you in rage mode, plus he's extremely fast. Normally I would suggest, if he's in rage mode, ONLY hitting him when he taunts (mainly after his double-jump attack), but seeing as it's G-rank, I wouldn't take any chances.

Oh, and you may or may not have noticed this before, but you can tell when he's in rage mode, because not only is he a LOT faster, but the part where his claws meet his wings turns red, you'll see what I mean when you see him in rage mode.
