First topic message reminder :

WHO WILL WIN?

My money is on Rajang, he's got Deviljho's primary weakness.

HOWEVER, if it was HUNGRY Deviljho... things could change, but this is just normal Deviljho.

Here's how I imagine the scene:

It was sub-zero, Matt, a new rookie hunter, was searching for popo tounges in the freezing Tundra. He is carving the last popo and he hears a loud thumping, and so he hides behind a rock, wondering what the thumping is. Just as the hunter is about to emerge from the cover of the boulder, he sees an ugly face, twisted into an angry sneer. He almost catches his heart in his mouth at the sight. "What the hell is that!" he shouts under his breath. He opens his "Book Of Monsters" and flicks through the pages. "Come on... Great Jaggi, Velocidrome, Dyuragaua, Rathalos, Gigginox, Chameleos, AHA! Deviljho..." before he could read the rest of the text he heard yet another loud thumping, but this time it wasn't as hard as before. All of a sudden he is staring at a golden coated pelagus with the head of a minotaur. "Hey! I recognise that one! Uhh... Raming, Rajeng, that's it! Rajang! Those things are tough. Wait, it looks like that Deviljho is hungry... Maybe..." He was right, the Deviljho was indeed hungry and Rajang was the main course. The Deviljho charges at the Rajang with a reckless bite, Rajang steps nimbly aside and punches Deviljho around the head, the Deviljho flinches and backs up. Deviljho decides to go long range and flings a rock at Rajang, Rajang simply punches the rock back at Deviljho's face, forcing him to stagger backwards. Knowing that his enemy was confused, Rajang fires a beam of thunder at the Deviljho, but at the very last moment, a popo came in and pushed the Deviljho aside.

Deviljho flipped himself up and gave a roar of rage, forcing the hunter to cover his ears, the fight could now truly begin. Rajang sent a flurry of punches Deviljho's way, Deviljho simply flung Rajang into the air, Rajang landed with a THUMP! Wasting no time, Deviljho unleashed a fierce swipe of dragon breath, Rajang jumped into the air and span a thunder bolt Deviljho's way. Deviljho stepped aside and snapped up Rajang's horn in his mouth, swallowing it whole. Rajang, clearly seeing the hunger in this monster's eyes, decided to tease Deviljho a little. He leapt from cliff to cliff, Deviljho continuing to smash his face into every single one. Getting tired, Rajang leapt off one of the cliffs, landing clean on Deviljho's back, smashing it all he could with his fists. Instictively, Deviljho brought his head high and forced Rajang to fall off.

The Deviljho was becoming weak, and thus limped away. The hunter, still keeping behind the cover of the boulder, sneaked up behind the Deviljho to follow it. The hunter saw the great, huge beast on the floor. "Good thing I brought traps and tranqs." he thought. And so, the hunter placed the shock trap near the Deviljho's head and kicked Deviljho in the head to wake him up. Deviljho, confused by what was going on, stepped into the trap. Just as the hunter was getting his tranqs out, the Rajang jumped in the room and fired a laser at Deviljho, with such force that the Deviljho slumped to the floor, flailing his legs around. Rajang, completely ignoring the hunter, roared and sent a finishing blow to the Deviljho's head, and Deviljho was no more than an ugly carcase.

"I gotta get the hell outta here!" the hunter thought. The quest he was on was to just get some popo tounges for food at the tavern, but it didn't go as planned, luckily his ride was coming in 5 minutes, but how could he get to camp with a Rajang chasing him? After all he was still a rookie. The hunter chewed on a well-done steak then legged it, alerting the Rajang. Sensing a threat, Rajang gave chase to the hunter. Matt (the hunter), with absolutely no idea how the Rajang would react, placed his pitfall trap on the ground, and Rajang fell in it. While the super saiyan monkey was distracted, Matt legged it for camp, and made it, but only just.

Nice scenario. And like what happened in it, realistically rajang would win because of overwelming speed mixed with high power long range, and powerful punches.

ok, lets establish already that speed does NOT make a ultimate deciding factor, as you've brought up consistently.

if that were the case, Sonic would be top tier in SSBB, Cheetahs wouldn't be afraid of lions, Deoxys-S would be able to survive a strong dark type move, Meth would be legal (SeeWhatIDidThar'?), and the Future Bat Creature wouldn't have got its sass kicked by a gorgonopsid on primeval.

I'm pretty much saying that rajang has decent strength, incredibley strong long range, and speed. I don't see how he can lose to a very powerful melee, poor long range, and moderate speed.
Plus rajang has his weakness. decent stength+ speed beats just stong strength.
Deviljho would get annilated at long range.

Diddy is top tier, sonic is on the boarderline decent-'this guy blows' last I cared to check sonics ranking.

But as much as I wish it was, this isn't a SSBB thread x.x

Also, cheetas fear lions because if they did fight the lion is stronger, however cheetas can outrun lions a lot, now imagine if we gave this cheetah that can already out run a lion some method of ranged attack that the lion was extremely susceptible to, suddenly, dead lion. The point is that Rajang can just range it to death if it wants to though I would say jho totes has the upper hand if it can manage to close the gap. But closing the gap would be pretty hard since Rajang is so fast.

I see what ya did thar lazlo, throwing my siggy into this.
lool low blow, but well played

heres another food for though, seeing everyone forgot this was suppose to be based on REAL LIFE and the last time i checked outside the realm of otology mokeys could not generate and concentrate rage quantities of eletroconduction to manifest into a Mazer:

the largest rajang, according to MHW, is 490cm
the largest Jho is at 4097.8cm

in visuals

Then in keeping with your siggy, Rajang uses "Rock Throw", Jho makes a "WTF Face/Gesture", Charges Rajang, gets "Monkey-Punched", then "Donkey Kicked" (or is it "Donkey-Punched" then "Monkey-Kicked"?)

And Then... And Then...

.. Seriously??!!! this is still going on...

OK...

Rajang

"Ultra-Aggressive creature that is rarely sighted and seldom survived. Survivors report it exhibits a strange attack. The Rajang is said to be a loner, and this isolated life has made it difficult to pin down its territorial leanings."

Species: Pelagus

Pelagus monsters are beastly mammalian creatures that operate with only legs, and no wings. They are often much faster than other larger threats. The first primatius bosses appeared in Monster Hunter 2. They were referred to as Primatius in earlier translations, but as of Unite are known as Pelagus. More of the Pelagus were added in MHP3 They are known as Fanged Beasts in the Japanese version.

Weakest to: on Head

Signature Move: Lightning Beam, Jumping Lightning Ball

Habitats: Snowy Mountains, Old Volcano, Volcano and Gorge

Size: 960.0 cm - 1631.2 cm

Total attacks: 11

"As one should already be well-aware of, the Rajang is infamous for its aggressiveness (aside from the points above). This is attributed to what some believe to be the beast's poor eyesight (which is understandable: they even attack each other initially, perhaps as a result of not recognizing each other). Against most prey, the Rajang will quickly and effectively pummel the target to death using either its fists or its horns. In the chance that the target food is too far away - or too fast - the rajang will expel either a burst or beam of energy, almost always paralyzing or killing the prey, usually instantly. Either way, the result is an easy meal for the Rajang. According to the Guild requests, the bounty for slaying a Rajang is that simillar to a Yama Tsukami's, which indicates that it is truly a powerful foe to deal with."

DevilJho

"The dreaded, nomadic Deviljho have no specific territory of their own. Their muscles swell if provoked, revealing old wounds. Needing to feed constantly due to high body heat, they can hunt nearby animals to extinction."

Species: Brute Wyvern

Brute Wyverns are a newly discovered species of monster that are very similar to large theropod dinosaurs in their overall bodyshape. They first appeared, along with Leviathans in Monster Hunter 3. They are also known as Beast Wyverns in the Japanese version. These creatures are known to live near any immediate food source which includes many types of minerals as well as live prey. They are also known to be very aggressive towards hunters and as a result charge blindly through their environment, knocking down many obstacles in their path. They usually have thick skulls, weak arms, and have tough hides. The first species to ever be discovered was the Barroth. They are a perfect example of how aggressive these creatures can be, having a ferocity that rivals even that of a Diablos.

Ailment/s: Thunder

Signature Move: Lunging Bite, Dragon Breath

Habitats: Deserted Island, Flooded Forest, Tundra, Sandy Plains, Volcano, Mountain Peaks

Size: 1803.0 cm - 4097.8 cm

Attacks: 11

"Deviljho, are complete carnivores, and will prey on all living things from small sized hervibores to large sized monsters. Because they are not tied, to any particular ecosystem, they seem to migrate on instinct, constantly searching on prey. Deviljho maintains a consistently high body temperature along with its large size, thereforeit expands a lot of energy. Predatory activity must be high to supply itself with energy, but its appetite is something that is far beyond imagination. In the past, the number of all living things in one area were drastically redeuced to the verge of extinction, as reports came in that it was the result of Deviljho's predation. A Deviljho tends to accumulate fatigue rather easily, and hunger is quick to follow. Once it succumbs to fatigue, the saliva will settle in, and then its predatory activities begin. Its drool is said to contain special ingredients which softens the shell and skin of its prey. There are many details about its ecology that are unknown and it is still unclear to how they breed, or if there are any sexual differences."

"Some variations of Deviljho size have been reported by senior hunters. If we assume the Deviljho is a reptile, as its appearance suggests, then we can also assume that it will continue to grow as it ages. These reports may suggest Deviljho that have reached ages far beyond the reach of any normal human. These Deviljho should be avoided unless the hunter is of a very high rank, and they are prepared for a vicious battle. It has been speculated that if a Deviljho were to reach this size, not only would its appetite increase, but it may also have the capability to destroy the whole ecosystem of any region. These "super" Deviljho have only rarely been spotted on the Deserted Island, possibly due to its tropical climate and abundance of prey items."

_________________________________________________________________________________

OK... If we are taking this seriously than we are examining all aspects of all types of Raj and Jho's. This includes Gold Raj, Hungry Jho and Super Jho.. World Eater. Now it's unlikely a Rajang will venture into an area with a SuperJho but if that does happen... I think the SDJ would be the clear victor in the end even with the largest Raj.

Comparing normal sizes the Largest Raj (1631.2 cm) is still smaller than the smallest Jho (1803.0 cm). However most of the time you will most likely have monsters of about a middle size facing off.. so lets say a Raj of about 1296cm and a Jho of about 2950cm. Size advantage would be well in the Jho's favor.

Lets talk about attacks.. People atomatically say Raj will blast Jho, however that's not the actual case. As you can read above Rajang's have poor eysighs and their natural instincs are to pummle their prey and fight at close range whenever they can. Their ranged attacks are for prey that are at a distance or fleeing... Jho's do not flee from a battle in most cases.

Now looking at each monsters weakness, Jho is clearly at an elemental disadvantage as Rajang can produce lightning attacks. However, though Rajang has no elemental weaknesses he is very weak to attacks against his head. Jho has little physical attack weaknesses which will be Rajangs primary means of damage and many of Jho's attacks will be aimed or at a perfact level for shots to Rajangs head.

So in the end though Rajang may be quicker and posses ranged attacks his behaviors, size and overall abilities will work as a disadvantage against Jho who will once having eaten and battled one Rajang will most likely find it much more easy and tasy to track down and devour the next one and the next until another species has gone exstinct.
