3ds and monster hunter 3 ultimate

If you can afford it, buy the wii u and mh3u. The online play definitely adds a lot to the experience.

It also looks better graphically, and has smoother controls in some people's opinion.

If you have the money, get both...

but more realistically, your enjoyment vs playstyle should determine which one you get. If you want to play as much as possible, then the 3DS. If you want to savor the game like a fine wine, then the WiiU is the way to go. Much better graphics, smoother control, and you can play with other people online, which you can't do with the 3DS unless you already have a WiiU.

Monster Hunter wise:

if you want to play with friends online, enjoy amazing graphics, and have the option to use the gamepad, controller classic, or controller pro. note also there will be an update allowing you to play on the gamepad itself. go for the wiiu. not to mention the wiiu has other great features u should look into.

OR

the 3ds. this is if you want something smaller, portable, enjoy playing with local buddies mostly. and not to mention, cheaper!!

i'd also look at the threads listed here, there are quite a few. desicion is your at the end!

If you have the money, both would be better. I noticed nobody mentioned the 3D with the 3DS. My brother has the 3DS, and the 3D is really cool! (that was the first time we had really played a 3D game before, so of coarse we'd be impressed) Since you are deciding over which to get, I'd definitely recommend a 3DS as much as a Wii U. The 3DS also has the ability to be played away from home. Which is why it comes just as high to the Wii U imo. (Take note that I haven't actually gotten a Wii U yet... /no/ So my opinion might actually be different when I get it. I'm just going with what our family has now, as well as some of the features that both have)

Honestly... My veiw on this is based soely on MH3U.. if you are going on the system and games for it.. that gets more complicated.

Game only.. get a WiiU, if that;s all you can get and you have no "local friends" to play with. If you have a group of local friends that you can play with often and you like hanging out with... then I'd probably suggest a 3DS.

System Wise... in the long term it's really a tough call and what you like more. The portable with a huge library of games (as all portable usually have more games) of the home console with less games but more intense and powerful games?

With all "Nintendo" systems you are getting a lot of options and extremes. I wont go into it more than that as this really should still focus on the game in this section...

The mane difference in games:

3DS: Portable, 3ds graphics no full online, Smaller screen

WiiU: Online, HD graphics, Stuck in one place

Which is more important to you?
