Well, here I am now.

A proud archer, by far no rookie anymore, finishing the village quests one by one... Call it pride if you will, but I want to clear all the high rank stuff before stepping into G Rank.. been that way ever since there "was" a G rank mode. *snicker*

But now I find myself mildly... frustrated.

It is not that I am lacking choices with gear. I have several full sets of armor to choose from, have at least wo bows frome ach element (Except Slime and Dragon of course.) and a lot of materials to craft all sorts of gems, though this far... No success.

I tried my Zinogre getup with Latent Power+2 and Thunder Atk+2 first, along with his bow, too.. hoping it would saveguard me from Lagiacrus lightning terror. Well, it did, though that fight takes forever and Im not sure how I am supposed to finish the other two with the 20-30 minutes left on the counter. ... When enrage Brachydios doesn't just blast me out of the arena. Quite literally even..

Then I tried my Nargacuga armor with my draon bow... Sure, it would help me surviving against brachydios and his Michael Bay impressions.. but the moment I get hit by one of Lagiacrus sparks.. Well, let us say it's not a pretty sight in there with -20 Lightning Ressistance.

On that note.. with two of these raging behemoth in the same arena, I find myself more busy dodging then acctually attacking. What wouldn't be as much of a problem as long as my little pals can supply me with unlimited stamina.. butt hat time limit is really unnerving.
But even these flashbangs eventually stop providing a decent defense mechanism. Before I run out of them, of course..

Speaking of the shakalakas.. Generally, it is Cha-Cha and his Pitfall mask and Kayamba on his Ultimate Mask. Hoping they can keep things off my hide for a while.

So.. Feel free to suggest a strategy that might help. I can freely say that my material box should hold more then enough material from just about everything to whip up something new.

The hardest part is the I.Lagi, Get past him and you are set. as long as you have enough time left. Take him out and once Brachy and Azure spawn just let them beat the crap out of each other until one remains, that one remaining should die easily. <- It isn't very in depth but that's what I did. I am not a gunner though so I cant give any weapon relevant tips.

Just so you know, the monsters in that quest are of G-Rank difficulty, even though it gives high rank items.

Farming suggestion:
1. (1x Slime weapon)
2. With good weapon or slime weapon farm Jhen Moran armor (nice fire/lightning resistance)
3. (Build Jhen Moran LS cause good sharp with dragon element)
4. With good weapon or Jhen Moran LS farm Deviljho weapons
5. Do Mark of Hero again

In fight i would take:
10 mega Pots
10 pots
10 honey
3 combo books
1 pitfall trap
1 shock trap
2 trap tools
2 nets/thunderbugs
5 flashbombs

when I. lagi appears, try to hit him between front and back leg to flinch him/bring him down as much as possible , with the good resistance you should take a few lightning hits if you cant dodge them (like u swing and then he starts), after I.Lagi is down ,azure los and dios appears. Now just run and flash them both if you can or try to flash and attack the unflashed.

Well, that's that taken care of, without having to rely on melee weapons like some kind of savage barbarian.

Granted, not exactly the most glorious way, but watching an enrage Brachydios beat the living daylight out of a rathalos DOES has a certain kind of appeal.

I always gem my narga armor for some decent thunder res (usually I can get up to +9 with a talisman) and then I go get a felyne meal with usually neutralises the minus thunder res and brings me to 0. I think you should farm some low rank lagias and get yourself some +2 thunder gems, but I am a blademaster and I haven't got round to that quest so ignore me XD

I actually just finished this quest. I had the same problems, so i didnt bow it tbh..I made a poison weapon and used HR azure armor (i made the nox ls btw). Soo, my tactic was first take out i. lagi of course. took me about 20 mins. then let los n brachy come, flash one (or both at the same time if ur good)/trap em. poison one, run around like a chicken with its head cut off and let them beat eachother up. I went for brachy (when hes enraged just keep los between you and him and let him do all the explosions on los). los died, had about 8 mins left, brachy took about 3 to finish off. rinse wash and repat the poison part t make it quicker.

That's not a good strategy for I. Lagi, darklinghunter. You're supposed to hit the tail since it is the weakest area. Once it dies, focus on Brachy, and let it damage Azure Rathalos for you. Azure should die pretty quick.

You'd want all the time on Rathalos and Brachy, so taking out I. Lagi as fast as you can is an excellent idea.

Damage the tail of I. Lagi. When Los and Dios spawn, focus on Los because it's weak. Dios will help you take it down. After that focus on Dios fully. If it's exhausted put some pitfall or shock traps. Kill it. End of story.

I beat it with Jaggi X armor with KO King gemmed in and Fang Hammer-Ruin by pretty much ignoring the Ivory Lagiacrus portion of it in preparation. (Spamming Flash Bombs and Herbs is enough if you know how to just keep hitting the exposed part of it's chest)- The object of the quest is to defeat all of the obstacles, so worrying about getting all of the good breaks is something of a practice in frivolity, where the solo I.Lagi quest would be easier and more resource efficient.)

If I were doing this quest with a bow, I'd make a strong effort to cheese the Ivory Lagiacrus without using power coatings (Poison coatings, if you can, Exhaust, if you can, Slime, if you can, Paralysis or Sleep if you want to bomb it). Then try using minimal resources to deal with Azure Rathalos (and hopefully allow Brachydios to damage itself some, since it's attack is roughly the same, but it's HP is diminished by being part of the quest.) Then you should hopefully have 20~ minutes to beat a Brachydios with a diminished healthpool, a lump of health already scratched off with a stock of power coatings and whatever you didn't use to cheese I.Lagiacrus.
