So Ive only played MH on the Ps2 then took a break for a few years and started playing Tri on the Wii. Now instead of playing on the wii (Desire Sensor...) I just got a PSP and MHFU so my question is, when do you suggest I start playing online? Ive been told by my friend that MHFU online is way different than Tri, can someone explain that? And the whole new felyne comrades and chefs in the kitchen food thing is confusing too.... And the farm <.<;
Havent started quests yet and just doing the training classes or whatever for fun so Im open to any and all help. Thank yews in advanced :3 <3

I did unite completely solo(f'ing diffucult at times) so I have no idea about the online, which by the way the desire sensor in unite is way worse than tri's, like a 1000x worse and its about 1000x more diffucult so get ready, although it seems like if you have other people it might be easier. the felyne chefs are a bit more complicated then tri's kitchen, go and look up waht combos give what effects. the comrades are way better than any cha-cha. they can level up like cha-cha and learn new skills, you can also train them to raise different attributes like health, strength, and defense. new skills will cost points that you earn by having your felyne comrade fight by your side, but I serously suggest that you get a melee only because your felyne will bomb you more than any wild one. the farm is also amazing for farming simpler mats, it can be upgraded with points earned form treasures or from doing training hall missions, new upgrades to the famr are unlocked as you go, which allows for differetn kindas and different rarities of items to be harvested, this is amazing ans saves a ton of time. just treat this as mh in how you start, research some of the key weps and start progressing. take any others advice on when to hit online, I embrace solo'ing it so I wouldnt know anything about online on unite.

To play online, you will need Ad-Hoc Party (got on a PS3) or XLink Kai (you will need a compatable Wifi Adapter. That or Custom Firmware for your PSP, something else and a USB connector for your PSP).
XLink Kai can be downloaded from here, by the way:

How you could use the gunlance in MHFU I don't even-
Anyways, in MHFU, there are two, yes, TWO main solo weapons.
Those are Long Sword and Hammer.
Both will pretty much take you through the entire game.
Also, you could go on the bone path and eventually get some neat upgrades from it.
I know that the Lao LS is an upgrade from something on the bone path. Not sure about the Gunlance, though.
Does Lao even have a gunlance?
I forget. Very Sad by Kasumi

I know, but to me it feels like LS and Hammer are some of the most effective for soloing.
That is without Adrenaline skills (Adrenaline Bow/Bowgun FTW).
Also, on the Gunlance topic, I mean that it's so different from the MHP3rd Gunlance.
I honestly don't think I'd be able to GL without my slam attack and shelling barrage. C:

Inb4heavybowgun hbg easily has the highest dps with felyne temper or heroics..... And your tastes could be different than his..... I personally solo'd all the way to ukanlos with lance and still hate using hammer but I have ambition piercing so meh.... Still didn't get eagle eye yet though T-T

Thanks for all the tips, I guess Ill just solo through everything like Mh
As for online, I guess I can try that since I have a Ps3 and wifi but Ill worry about that later.
Felyne skills and comrades... Kinda confusing but Ill learn about it. I havent gotten far enough for weapon and armor upgrades yet. Can you gem in skills and have diff armor skills etc like tri? Or is it completely different? Oh and can someone explain the downloadable quests and other stuff? I get that you can download stuff for gameplay and the quests you get go into the gathering hall or that other place but what about everything else? I think I saw one saying Felyne armor and skills too

I pretty much feel like a noob in that I was on a foraging Quest and I was carted by an Anteka. I'm just not accustomed to the PSP control setup and how close the analog stick is and the camera angle adjusting controls are. My claw method needs a lot of fine tuning.
