| Does dying to a monster reduce my chances of getting commodities from them? | |

| Dying during a free hunt has no negative consequences (besides losing food boosts), nor does it affect the rewards. | |

| Fainting in general doesn't affect your rewards anywhere. Not in quests, not in arena quests, not anywhere. | |

| ^Technically it affects the amount of money received at the end of a quest right?
But no, It shouldn't affect the monster parts and such in the rewards screen.

| Freehunt is a very good way to train up your skills in a new weapon. You can take your time, and try new stuff out. If you die, you just think of it as going back to home base for free. | |

| Thanks everybody. I guess I was just getting the best (or maybe worst) luck because it seemed like anytime I killed a free hunt monster without dying to it I always got the commodity from the reports, but the ones I died to never gave me any. Honestly, so far, except for maybe two times where I didn't get commodities after not dying, this has held true for me for days. I guess I'm just rolling the dice weirdly :| | |

| One thing you may also want to do is save up your points (wait until you have a lot of kiils then turn it into JR,
Also, IN free hunt, capturing gives you a higher amount of Points and higher posibility of rarer rewards.. so if you are just killing you may want to think about taking stuff to capture with as well.

I made the Plesioth armor as soon as I unlocked its village quest and use it almost exclusively. I think I've killed maybe 3 things since then? Everything else is capturing because it's just faster (and the extra loot doesn't hurt) :P

Everything else is capturing because it's just faster (and the extra loot doesn't hurt) :P Something to note: Sometimes it's better to kill a monster rather to capture it, when looking for a particularly rare drop from that monster. For example, the Brachydios Gem. You get a slightly higher % of getting one by capturing it, but you can also get it as a carve for not much less chance. Going by the numbers, it's better to carve three times with the less chance than to cap it and only get one chance at a minimally higher percentage. This isn't true for every monster though; I'd recommend looking at http://kiranico.com if you're after a certain item at any point.
