Monster hunter Nintendo Direct

Nintendo announced a Monster Hunter related Nintendo Direct for Japan on September 8th. Shortly after Nintendo also announce a direct for the same day in NA/EU.

It has not been stated the focus of the direct for the western areas. Iwata comment however stating:

"According to Iwata, games that performed well in Japan were not released last year in North America, causing a problem where hardware and software sales failed to drive one another."

Nintendo has stated before they would like to make more world wide releases of games such as Pokemon X/Y and has been proactive in localizing many games over the past few years that normally would not be localized or have long delays in localization.


Just don't get your hopes too high but hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have MH localization news to share!

You know... Everyone believed mhp3 would come to west... Never happened

Noone believed that. We just hoped.

Well I believe there is going to be MH4G or MH4U... So we might have to wait a while. Idk mh3u took a damn long time to come to west

P3rd was with a different company (Sony) who was asked by Capcom to localize it. Sony did not.

MH3U ended up being delayed for the WiiU version in the west.

Mh4 is not receiving a WiiU version and is through Nintendo who actively supports localization. Also nintendo as already confirmed that the direct on the 8th is specifically for MH and that the west will have a direct the se day. What hasn't been confirmed is if the western direct will be about MH as well. So far every Nintendo direct given same day has been about the same thing.. Wonderful 101, Pokemon X&Y and so on.

At the VERY LEAST nintendo may confirm MH4 for the west but no release date as of yet. Usually the announcement comes directly from Capcom however over the past week Mr. Iwata (now head of Nintendo US) has been at the Capcom studios filming the Nintendo direct in advance.

Even if no western announcement is made we can still look forward to lots of new information about MH4 and videos from the Japan Direct.

I hope they say that MH4 is being localized. At least some indication, a photo, a trailer... an easter egg.
If not then... wait until the next direct.

I tried to watch it (terrible lag, i don't understand japanese). What i did understand was mario and luigi costumes for the felynes; customizable cities?; garara ajara looks cool to fight; link costume, sword and shield and bow!; and then my connection stopped so i didn't see the trailer part at the end. No word on a western release.
EDIT: I totally forgot about the super mushrooms. Monsters can eat them and become double the original size. Imagine fighting tigrex when that happens.../scar/

i kinda think this is only gonna be that one event quest with the congalala, and you get the parts for the mario and luigi costumes from that quest. though it would be really cool if you could make like a mega meat or something like that... though they may won't do this because it would make getting crowns too easy.
