Black screen of death

Hey all,

I'm experiencing an issue with MH3U on WiiU. I got the ultimate mask, but after the animation finishes with Cha Cha and I press A to go through the conversation in the village, the screen fades to black. There is some music that plays at this point, sounds like the opening sequence music. But the screen remains black and the gamepad stays on the "look at the screen" graphic. The buttons don't funcion either and my only option is to manually power off the WiiU or to press Home on the gamepad and quit that way.

I have tried numerous times with the same result. Is there any way I can get past this 'glitch'?

The disc is completely clean and free of any scratches.

Have you tried another copy of the disk? or even tried to transfer your data to a 3DS version of it and play it there? my conclusion is that the disc contains a corrupted video file and refuses to load, however, you can still play the game if you don't talk to the Cha-Cha or Kayamba I'm sure.

If you can get ahold of someone with a 3DS version or another disk and give it a shot, it might help

The game automatically chats with kayamba at that point, I believe.

Your screwed...well you can do as law said and try a different disc,id say to rent it though,to be sure thats the problem,if it is then buy a new copy

Thanks very much for the info, guys. I ended up biting the bullet for the 3ds cartridge. After I transferred my stuff to it I was able to get the final video and then see the credits...pretty funny that I had to pay $40 just to see the credits LOL. But now I am back in action, nevertheless.

I do agree that there must be a corrupt video file or something similar.
