Masked Robbery - help!

Subject: Masked Robbery - help! Fri Nov 21, 2014 6:45 pm

On Masked Robbery (the seven-star Deserted Island fight against Rathalos), Rathalos keeps killing me!

BTW, I wear a full set of Barroth S armor (AuM, DuS, Raise Hunger, Guard +1, gemmed Capture Guru.)

and I "main" these weapons:

1) Barroth Hammer (884 DMG, good sharpness)
2) Insectirippers (238 DMG, 100 Dragon, BLUE sharpness!)

As mentioned in my first sentence, Rathalos keeps triple-carting me.

First off May I suggest a different armour setup?

The set you're currently using is weak to Fire and your Guard+1 skill is useless on your two choices of weapon.

Hammer and Dual Blade I personally run Evasion+1 as I can attack the face then evade out of the way if he goes for an attack,

My theory overall is that you're getting hit by his fireballs, and with your setup they would be doing a lot of damage (they pack a punch in G rank also) so you'd want to eliminate your fire resistance.

That's all I can help you with as Los should be easy to defeat in 7 star village.

Sorry - first, I recently defeated Los in that quest; second, the quest is the first of the eight-star quests, now (it was one of the "level upgrade" quests.)
