In the MH World beta, what was your weapon?

I went with Dual Swords - I came to like them a whole lot in MH3U.

I did not play the beta, but if past experiences have had any say, I will go with the powerhouse: Greatsword.

I always venture out from there once I have amassed some loot and experience. Then I tend to go full on helper, like doing HH, or the bowguns.

It is very possible that I will be full online mode for the majority of the game.

I also did not play the beta, but intend to play the PC variant if/when it comes out.

I'll probably start off super defensive with the Lance, but then progress to the Dual Swords as I've developed a much more aggressive/evasive play style over the years and think they'd be a better fit.
(Although I don't think endlessly charging, which usually happens after a while when I use the Lance, can really be called defensive, but whatever)

went with my trusty long sword once again!

After not really playing a MH since MH3U, it was interesting to try the insect glaive and charge blade.

In the end, I actually abandoned my faithful long sword to mainly use the switch axe. I have no regrets.

I hope to see plenty of you around in the online mode.

I have played and enjoyed Monster Hunter since Tri.

I think I am going to break down, and play this game tonight, and over the weekend.

I will take it as a "training run", in order to familiarize myself with the new aspects of the game. And seeing that the release is just a few days away, I don't want to call it "cheating" :-P

So far my favorite is bows. I really like how they streamlined them and the special attack is very cool!

GS for the moment but will go through a few different weapons. Most things seem pretty much as MH:Gen overall so no big learning curve and no real difficulty choosing the weapons.
