this is something i wrote a few years ago when i couldn't take not having monster hunter around anymore. i hope you all enjoy it.
The people on the run,
The fight is not much fun.
Khezu on the ceiling,
A mortifying feeling.
Ratholos in the air,
The town is in despair.
The people now are shouting,
"Help us Hunters of the past, the Monsters are surrounding-!"
Cut off by mighty roars from dragons of the past,
The people seek out shelter from their divine wrath.
Silence strikes the heart of town, the raids halt at the core,
A single child blows the Horn of Hunters with a roar.
Now the Hunters storm the town, leaping into action,
All the weapons users parted into factions.
Swords and Hammers, single and two-handed alike,
Rush in head first as if they awaited the fight.
The Lancers set in the middle, a shield for the back,
The Bowguns positioned, taking aim, ready to attack.
The cries of Monsters in pain, the Hunters' first strike,
A hail of cheers, the villagers do rain, as the Hunters change the fight.
The wyverns and dragons now step in, the Monsters' last chances,
The Hunters send their Masters, and now they take their stances.
For Eternity it seemed, at the heart of town,
The adversaries glared at one another and stared each other down.
Suddenly, as though by fate, the two sides rushed to fight,
The Monsters on the left, the Hunters on the right.
The Monsters had their dragons, who led with a mighty roar.
The people had the Hunters, who the people were fought for.
The battle, at its end, the leaders did still stand,
They knew the battle would only end, with them first-hand.
The dragons took to the air,
The Bowguns shot with care.
The dragons let out a blast,
The Lances stood in the way, with a defensive stance.
The dragons soared all in,
The Hunters cut them thin.
The dragons come from behind,
The Hammers set and swing on time.
The dragons fall, the shock on Monsters' face,
Looking at the hunters, they now knew their place.
The Monsters now defeated, the Hunters have won,
The people tend to the wounded, as the Monsters run.
The Monsters flee, now returning to the lands around,
The Hunters now are welcomed back into the town.
