Fatalis help, etc.

Alright.Before anyone suggests a super godly armor set/weapon, TAKE NOTE that I am only HR 7, and I'm trying to take on the HR 6 Fatalis. Right now, the best armor I have is Heloha Z, 90 def. each piece, as wells as Tigrex S, fully upgraded (well, as full as it can go before Ukanlos is killed). I also don't have a Lao-Shan Heavenly Scale, so there is no way I can fully upgrade the Lao-Shan LS yet. But I do use LS and Hammers, and SnS. I doubt an SnS would do much, but yeah. I also am very good with bows (but then again, who isn't?) So any tips would be MUCH appreciated.

Given that this is my area of expertise I'd like to know a few things, I'm unfamiliar oddly enough with that armor set, please tell me the skills of that set you are wearing. SnS could be good but only if it's a high element one, however for your first Fatalis Trio fights I can either recommend the following as I find out of your weapon choices, the hammer, to be the most effective as well as the presence of guides on youtube that really prep you for doing what you need.

Your hammer choices are the following:

Juggernaut
or
Deep Darkhammer (Nargacuga fully upgraded but means you'd have to do your Narga Urgent but it could be worth the investment as you will use the Narga hammer for G rank lao killing.)
or
Dragon Demolisher (Lao shan hammer line, needs Lao Ruby though).

While my first kills were no head breaks (due to no dragon element) my first kills were with Juggernaut (this includes White Fatalis but bring bombs for round 3 aka Armor Mode round). However if you can get it the Narga Hammer outclasses it easily.

However for the Fatalis Trio, the Lao Shan hammer is the best of the bunch in my opinion because the Fatalis are notoriously weak to Dragon Element. But keep in mind, if you can kill them without making the Lao Shan hammer, then when you get to the White Fatalis, he spoon feeds horns on his loot screen, making his hammer, the White Fatalis line, the best of them all on average.

Though this fact is countered by that you likely wont have his G rank upgrade until late in teh game (especially cause of the Big E Dragon gem requirement) so the Lao Shan hammer will be upgraded long before you engage the Hr9 Fatalis Trio, let alone White Fata.

So I'd make both the Lao Hammer, and the White Fata hammer (when you can) and use the Lao hammer to kill all 3.

Okay. You told me, Nova, in the chatbox to get Akantor armor for Fata hunting. I changed my set just now from Meloha Z to Tigrex S fully upgraded, so my def is 421, and my stats are Divine Whim, Quick Eating, Earplugs, and Demonic Protection. Devine Whim is from gems, and I know Demonic Protection is not good. So should I gem to get rid of that, or keep how I have it now? Also, I cannot recall if you said to use the Lao-Shan Hammer on Akantor.

Juggernaut probably works better on Akantor but either will work, just use the lao ruby on the hammer, Tigrex S is shit, make full Akantor. Use whatever set you want as anything can take out Akantor, just be sure to have him paintballed 100% of the time and use the zoomed in map so you can see his underground movement.

Okay, but what I'm asking is "Is Tigrex S good to use AGAINST Akantor untill I get his full set?"

Sorry Nova, but I just found out I don't need your fancy-pants Akantor armor. I repelled Fatalis with Dragon Demolisher and full Tigrex S. Dragon Res. Is ten times better than Akantor Res. And I broke it's face. I do appreciate your weapon advice though. Worked like a charm.

No but you DO need Sharpness+1. As a Blademaster it's pretty much required unless you are using something like a Nargacuga weapon fully upgraded as the damage modifier between White and Purple sharpness is a MASSIVE damage increase. Once you understand just why you need Sharpness+1 you'll be appalled you ever used that Tigrex armor, cause I used to think just like you until I learned the truth. At this point in the game Akantor is pretty much the only armor worth using in G rank until you can make some of the G rank sets founds here:

which is just one of several of the Sharp+1/HGE/Reck Abandon armor combination's possible and is great for monsters like Fatalis cause of their roars or against Diablos.

Or even one of their Sharp+1 / Sharp Sword (super long lasting purple sharp ftw!) / reckless abandon (affinity in Tri sucks, but in Unite its AMAZING as hell), though it looks like theirs is mostly Elder Dragon pieces so I'll link ya my combo pieces which they have close to but not quite on it. So yeah. Trust me on this man =P
