Uh, ares? Ur probly one of the better designers here. U build houses. 10x10 for ops, 5x5 for regs. Yeah, you can all mine freely, but in ur own private mine. I (unless im better fit for something else) will oversee the public mineshaft. I can see it now. All ineed is too many items online. Ther will be rails leading into it for easy access. Everybody so far, say wat ur job will be. Im the head miner.

I rather we keep it simple. We can have some public animal and plant farms and each looks after themselves, like replants wheat. We can also sometimes hop to caves together and mine stuff and then share the loot we get. But I rather not delegate random jobs rpg'ish way or anything like that, that's not what we need. Just good ol' craft survival and good builds.

I'll prolly make some people OP, but we'll see how it goes.

No 7, we will not be using too many items, it's makes survival mode less fun for us all if you don't work for our stuff

Totally, your making the server, so in the end, nobody can say who gets to be an op but you.

Um ares? If im an op, tmi just makes using /give quicker. Its so i can build resupply easily.

Those said to hav broken the rules of no griefing or stealing will be put in op cort, were all present ops go to the courthouse nd we put them on trial. If convicted i will then punish them according to their crime. 1st degree punishments(the worst, for the repeat offender):griefing- permaban and houses used as resources. Stealing- see griefing. Everything else- see above. Foul language will result in temporary kick.

7 Is speaking like I'm gonna make him OP. >_> With the way you're speaking, you'd abuse mod powers to give yourself too many materials, materials you haven't worked for and other kinds of things I don't really want for this server. I also can't say that you're mature enough to be a moderator, with the way you're typing your messages on this forum.

Creative mode is different, we use that to create some fancy looking buildings, fly around a bit and check surroundings, but we don't keep that stuff to ourselves but create public buildings and structures such as bridges or fancy looking mansions etc. Giving yourself things is basically cheating, which I only condone in the case you

1) Give back items to players who lost all their stuff to lava etc.
2) Give yourself some items, but also later get rid of as many items as you used to build something
3) When I give express permission to give items for the lolz, landscape modifications, structure repairements etc.
4) Give items that are hard to find legitly, like slimeballs for sticky pistons

Remember, I will have total control in what goes on this server. I can shut it down, OP and de-op players and ban players whenever I like. So basically if I see something that's bad, harmful or otherwise annoying to the players like griefing, I will take appropriate action and tell that person to stop. If they won't, they will get kicked. People have chance to repent, but if I hear any funny business going on such as stealing things or griefing, it's banhammer.

I will also trust my moderators to keep a lookout especially when I am not online on the server, even if I can see the chatlog and server commands. Which is why I will need couple moderators who are mature and smart enough to not abuse mod powers but also keep it clean. Moderator has lots of responsibility and not to be taken lightly, and I will need to trust my moderators as well. Thus I'm reluctant to make people moderators as of yet, I don't know many of you and thus I won't know how you will behave yourselves.

Oh and remember, when making public buildings to an area which has been populated by server players, ask first before building a massive, random, hideous looking thing that serves no purpose than taking space and looking ugly. I'm not above just taking the whole thing down if it doesn't even serve it's purpose as an eye candy. With my profession as an graphic designer, I also do have an eye for artistic things. So ask first if it's okay to build to someplace, I can give you advice how to do it and what materials to use, I can probably help you out a bit as well and make sure it's aestheticaly pleasing if it's on a public area for everyone to view. But I don't really care what you build in some random rural area someplace no one goes, so feel free to go apeshit as long as you don't explode a whole mountain next to my cacti farm and punch a hole through it like someone else did on finnish server once.

I am also not planning on making 1.8.1 server, since the landscape has changed quite a bit in 1.9 updates. So I will wait for the 1.9 final update so we don't need to restart server and lose all our buildings.

And samo, you're right about the mod part, it would be too easy to abuse mod powers, and what 7 is talking about would only be useful if were making a big complex restone using structure, which you made clear we didnt want. So do what you want Samo, we cant control Anything, and if we gripe, the best we can get is you getting pissed at us and deciding not to make the server.

As for the asking to be an op, after the first time, I was poking fun at Ares for something we did. I understand your concern about making people ops. I have been griefed by bad ops before, and nothing could be done. Ive been stolen from too much. Abusal of mod powers? Out of the question. I asked to be an op, so other people dont end up in the predicament I did, and if they do, I can help out (via TMI, creative, whatever). If I used any power given for myself, Im no better than the ones that griefed me.

1) she didnt insult you.... (at least...i didnt see one)

2) the problem she has is that you are acting like you were already a mod, and tmi is basically creative mode. she wants a survival server.

Well frankly, I wouldn't know what you used to type your comments with, but I doubt it would hardly constitute as an insult, rather as an observation. However I amend it as it turns out to be false, though understand that from my point of view, you appeared as an overeager teenager kiddo with stereotypical typing skills ready to jump the guns or something.

However, my other points still stand. This "TMI" thing is somethign I'd rather do without. Complicates a simple game. Regular survival would be what I'm after. And about the punishments... just lemme handle those things. :p No one else should really concern themselves with those, unless I'm not online and someone needs an immediate banhammer, a problem which I can always later visit and evaluate.

Since you are so against inv editing mods, Il turn it off and on as needed. Lets leave this unsavory debacle behind us and move forward. What are the differences in 1.9, exactly?
