Operation cherry blossom already failed, maybe make an operation apple tree? Operation Cherry Blossom? You mean P3rd right? To be precise, it was socialdissonance's try to organize support for a western release of P3rd. But i'm afraid it ain't gonna happen. Actually, pretty sure now that tri G is almost released in japan. On another note, i kinda understand where Iwata is coming from. The extra 3DS sales from a tri G release here would be...slim. Most buyers in the west are driven by mario/zelda/metroid and other classics. The release in japan WILL make a lot of MH addicts buy a 3DS. So basically, we fucked. Though in the end, i think it's a pretty bad decision. MHTri established somewhat of a foothold in the west, to give that up now by ignoring the fans...they might be unable to really establish a solid fanbase. Of course, there's a small group of devote fans (us...and unity), but that's not enough to warrant success if they let the big audience slip away now.

| If they release a monster hunter game here, pretty much every member on this forum will buy it, get their friends and family to buy it, and make youtube videos telling people to buy it. If they release it here bundled with a 3ds, many more people will buy it, especially with a special edition 3ds. Heck, if they relase it with a special edition one ill buy it even though i already have a 3ds. Id go sell my body on the street to get that if i had to. | |

| From a IGN review of tri "Tri is a historical moment, it brings hardcore gaming to a casual console and great graphics to the most noticeable weaker console of the generation" Saying this and the sales made by tri, MH isn't unknown anymore, they arent any rustshard waiting to be discovered, they are something now. If TriG is released then Nintendo would enjoy that their 3DS sales to go up a 120% more and Capcom would enjoy to the series to get know here in the western areas. Capcom said that they wouldn't stop, whatever it takes to make MH as great as it is in Japan. This does not explain P3rd case(maybe P3rd will be seen on the Vita, but until next year folks) but Tri G would not only boost sales, but make MH known around the world. Capcom must know that they are being fools by not releasing G, dos, Frontier, P3rd and Diaries to the western market, and we are waiting to them to make their move, but if the president of Nintendo is stoping this progres, the what can happen? We will see TriG the next year, don't worry, but know is a difficult moment, if we just flame around then we aren't going to do anything. | |

| ... It really saddens me to think of what the higher-ups in video game markets think of their loyal Western customers.
Now, some people seem to think that the Wii can't be used for much more than "Wii bowling." Quite obviously, that's going to effect your sales on people who don't believe in Nintendo.
So what I don't see, is how you can take the sales information for a home console that most people only buy for "Wii bowling," and apply that information to a completely different title, and not only that, but a handheld with completely different intentions!
It's impossible to make a console that pleases everybody. It's about time we learn that. But that doesn't mean you can take two completely different things, and make an assumption based on only one of those factors.

Main difference though is that 3G is with nintendo not Sony and historically Nintendo has been more open on bringing games out in the west than Sony has. Though with a delay usually.

Maybe 3G will be like Unite and Tri and will come about 9 months of the Japanese release... Lets see, December 10, add 9 months...? It ends in September, that is almost in fall...

| Read Hic's posts on this. Basically that is what he and what the projected "fall" eta time frame aims at us the 9 months. I personally however feel that is insulting but that's a personal opinion.
Also read what he just posted as I posted this.

| The only way to have this even get close to Iwata is to have it correctly translated into Japanese and mailed to his office.
It's no easy task, apparently hundreds of people solicit him about games every day.

That's my point... Though yeah, I don't think there's a huge chance of it not coming here at this point... I hope. Maybe I'm being too optimistic for what I usually am.

And who know's if he gets a swarm of fanmail asking him to bring tri g to west it just might persuade him to definitely do it.

With a massive selling game like monster hunter, I think they'll care... even if it's just a little bit. XD
