| I honestly think the hammer is my most fave. With the hammer, you can just go break a monsters face without going online, but that leads to a problem if you need monster tail materials. Also, people online might think of you as helpful for any monster hunt, BUT, that leads to some people being dependent on you (this problem happened to me 2 times with noobs /no/ ) | |

| Bounce Bombs!!
but since they aren't on the pool, I voted for the Hammer, my third option... after the binoculars...
binoculars + bounce bombs underwater = "AIM THE TORPEDOES"

It's the worst DPS wise, and that can be used as a good reason to say it's a bad weapon, but there are good upsides with it such as great mobility and easy item use. It's actually a nice support weapon too, although bowgun can do DAMN good support as well, but it's limited to low defense and doesn't have easy item use. Since your a gunner, you shouldn't really be worried about getting hit... There is one thing about SNS.... There should be NO reason why you aren't attacking a monster unless you're healing or maybe healing someone else with wide-range/lifepowders. You should be on a monster at all times attacking like mad. It's pretty awesome to know that no matter how fast a monster moves around, a sns user would pretty much be on the monster at all times.

In my opinion, there's no 'best' weapon. Even Lance, the game-breaking weapon, has an Achilles heel (e.g.: Rathalos decided to air-camp, you're shit out of luck, mate). I agree with Meh though. If you're using SnS, you should be stuck to the monster like glue and continously attack no matter what (unless you're healing). I duo-ed a quest with the amazing SnS user once, who didn't heal through the entirety of the quest (A HR Hunt Barioth Quest) yet I'm sure that more than half of the total damage we dealt was his (I'm using a GS so he told me to focus on tail cut. I cut the tail and Barioth died a few second later as I heal). That goes to show how good a SnS can be in the hand of capable user.

Well find the spot the monster almost never attacks at (Ex. Deviljho's stomach) The stomach is a bonus due to that being its weak spot. Then hack away... Don't forgot in total emergencies you can block and on wii remote if you click minus while your doing an attack you get a quick finish.

Yeah, but you get that EPIC heavy bowgun awesomeness. I rather have a Jack-of-all rather than something with crippling over-specialization. I do suppose that the Nintendo DS don't have enough power to run the Tri's modular bowgun system...

I don't think its a troll weapon, rather the majority of people using it are :/ . Present company excluded of course (I think ;D). Anyways my favorite is the Longsword. I like the balance of speed and power it gives me and the ability to dodge. I hate blocking for the life of me because it makes me too stationary, even with a lance I'd just evade lance especially on jho. A close second is probably GS since I had too much fun killing stuff with it with J Fizzle.

You don't annoyingly knock other players around, and you get very fast all bladed hits. That's not the problem. The aforementioned combo is the one I always do. But let's say you are under Jho's belly - he won't be there forever. Eventually he'll do the conga and then you won't be able to just... go and chase him. You may attack fast, but you surely don't run fast enough to be always slashing and attacking. Also, I think SnS is THE damage dealer when it comes to some monsters, like Rathian and Barioth. It's also a nice weapon to have at Ala (much better than Lance, GS and LS IMO).
