| I feel like an idiot but I'm having a heck of a time trying to communicate with a usb keyboard. I've done a search but not helpful. I need a step by step from a-z, how to communicate online with a usb keyboard for idiots, include friending, replying, joining on a quest, etc. I'm not very tech savy & this is my first attempt at an online game with Wii. Much appreciate any help.
Sorry, I thought I posted this in hotline. Mods pls move.

| Okay, it's REALLY REALLY easy, so just do this.
1. Get a USB keyboard (one that is compatible with a wii, which seems to be all. Mine is a cheap fake from china, it works).
2. Plug it into your wii.
3. Go online.
4. As soon as you press a letter, it should open the regular chat (without the whole regular box of letters and numbers when using the controller). Enter and backspace should work regularly. Use Tab to switch from open chat to "on quest" and individual people in city.
That's about it, really. As far as i know, there's no way to use the keyboard to "control the game", such as opening the menus to reply or friend or such. It basically just makes all the typing faster. Much faster. There IS a button that'll open the quick responses, when you are typing something, but you really won't need that, you can type them about as fast.

| LOL blackice, that would be an improvement for me. I haven't got back online to try but the suggestion from Win32error regarding the TAB button might be what I'm missing -OR- the hunters I'm trying to talk to are worse than I am at it. | |

| It's possible that your usb keyboard just isn't compatible with the Wii. I was wondering about buying a keyboard as well and asked a friend to test his keyboard with his Wii, he said it didn't work. If you DO get it to work, I'd be interested to know what keyboard you are using. | |

| lol you don't, you have to put down the controller to type.
Its usually best to only chat when:
1. You're safe 2. You're quick enough to put down the controller and type, then pick it back up before getting hit. 3. You have something REALLY funny to say that's worth taking a hit or two to type it. 4. You have something REALLY important to say that's worth taking a hit
or in the city/gate/tavern

| Okay, problem resolved. It appears the hunters I was trying to talk to were even more technically challenged than I am  | |

Not fair! I just got a keyboard. Put the batteries in the right way and everything! Works great!
