| Douse your router in gasoline, set it on fire, and throw it out the window and then buy a new one | |

| Yeah restart your router that should fix it, and if you don't know how have someone else do it so you wont accidentally reset the routers settings like I did once D: | |

| Also not using anything else that uses the internet helps, because when my mum uses the internet it usually doesn't let me on. When it does I get disconnected 5 minutes later. >_< | |

| This happened to me not long ago... I tried again and it worked.
As the experiences range from it not working for two weeks to seconds later it's fine, I doubt you're gonna find a solid solution.

| Hehe, welcome to my world of online monster hunting!
Yeah it really annoys me, too. How exactly do you restart a router, though? Judging by what everyone says, that's how to solve the problem. So how do you do it?
If it's relevant, the message I get says "Connection terminated due to network instability." Sound familiar?

| There's usually a button on the router that does so, that or you have an ancient router and you'll have to disconnect it then reconnect it. (though if you have an ancient router, chances are you won't be able to play online regardless)
That's the most common error message given by Tri, there is another one too IIRC but I can't remember what it is...

Wireless. And it's in a really bad place, if that makes a difference. I've always assumed that was why it didn't work. It's on a shelf in a corner with another shelf right above it. Which may be why it fails so badly.

I think I've found a button on the router that might reset it, but is there more to do than just pressing it, or is it really simple? If it's a factory reset, you don't want to press that one. Just unplugging it from the power and plugging it back in will do it. Only a few routers actually have a dedicated reset button since it's just as easy to unplug+replug it. - Spiritlord wrote:

Which may be why it fails so badly. If the shelves are wood, it won't affect anything. Radio waves pass straight through. If they're metal, then that's bad since they'll absorb it. Much more important is how far you are from the router, and how many walls the signal has to pass through.

Much more important is how far you are from the router, and how many walls the signal has to pass through. They're wood. I'm safe, then. And the wii is not very far from it at all. Thanks for your help, guys, I'll get back to online hunting soon. The offline arena was really starting to bore me! I managed the Lagiacrus+Gobul in 16 minutes, though, so it's not all bad.
