I'm beginning to lose hope....

I need 4 Majestic Horns and 4 Stout horns to make the endgame Diablos weapons, so that I have some decent weapons to use for the Alatreon. I also need 4 tailcases.

30 Diablos later, 0 Majestics, 0 Stouts and a single Tailcase.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm breaking both horns, cutting the tail, and ending by subquest. I've tried collecting Twisted Horns to try and trick the desire sensor (of which I now have about 50), I've tried mixing things up by using different weapons, hell, I even tossed a rathian plate to try and appease the desire sensor with a sacrifice, but I've gained absolutely nothing. Bloody hell, Tailcases are the most common thing you can get from the tail, and they're like bloody rubies for me. I'm beginning to lose heart in this now. What more can I do?

Stout horns, is one of the 4 hardest quest items to get in Tri.

Best option is to keep on trying? I recommend killing/capping it fully, and not ending by sub.

Break both horns, and capping Diablos is my preferred method of farming stout horns/majestic.

As for the tailcases, just keep trying.

This sounds like bad luck. I usually complete the quests myself, and it rains tailcases and majestics for me (not so much stouts sadly), but that shouldn't matter.

Math says that 30 hunts without any stouts would equal....0.02160131373025. So 2.1% chance of that happening. Guess that sucks? Guess again, because the chance of no majestics after 30 high rank hunts in which you break both horns is....0.00026570991987, aka 0.026%.

I'd just quit the game if i were you, you probably wouldn't be able to carve raw meat from an aptonoth /yes/.


But really, just keep going. Your luck should turn around someday. Right?

I sure hope it does. It's reassuring to know I have the same chance of not getting a horn as I have getting hit by a meteorite though.

I want to make it fun, but diablos fights are a pain at the best of times. 30 in a row is just a marathon.

So why do you need 4 stout horns again?

Best diablos weapon is the GS and it needs 2. Unless you're planning on making the armour to.

I'm making the spear too. I'm only using bone weapons see, and I need to get my hands on a lance.

ala is not that bad. go ahead and be a noob for your 1st kill (most people are anyway) and move on with life. then when the time is right go back and kill ala again.

don't lose hope. have faith. I slay 100 blos+(include cap) and i end up with 8 stout horn. My moto is don't grind blos+ all the time. Mixed it up from time to time and try again. Also pet the piggy, Boy do i live rubbing that pig ^^ for luck.

Anyways, you should try wearing the Jaggi mask and or aim for the lucky cat food skills.

See, I was going to get Baggi armor with the Jaggi mask, but idk if it would work. The horns are break rewards, and good luck just increases general rewards. Also, tranq guru guarantees that you will get break items if you break a body part, so I'd just get guaranteed twisted ones (which I do anyway).

Double Diablos Event is HR.40. You should be able to do it.

Dude, I got 6 majestics in ONE blos+quest.
It RAINS majestics for me.
At one point I was getting more mjestics per quest than I was carapace, which is what i needed to complete my blos gunner armor. They were a pain.

Try using the jaggi mask. it will probably help

It will help for majestic horns in a blos+ quest, but since Stout horns are break rewards, it won't work.

Dont break everything break only horns for horns
Cut only tail for tail this way your odds are %3 and not 1.5 by confusing the drop rate by cutting extra stuff you dont need at that moment

its kinda like when i needed Jho jems they are tail cuts for sure i would not bomb his face i would not hit him anywhere but the tail and legs ,when he falls over i run and hit his tail or nub (if its off) and guess what even at %3 i got more than what i needed in a few kills

and definatly dont farm one part in a row the game knows! the desire meter is watching you! it sees you when your sleeping ,it knows when carves are waste, it messes with you all the time so you got to slap your face!

Hah, that song made me laugh. I've given up for now, but I'll go back to it soon. We normally leave the tail intact anyway (I used an SnS, whereas my friend used hammer) but I'll go back to it when I have the guts XD

I been playing portable 3rd on my ps3 its fun its alot like tri but very different at the same time its easier in general but gets alot harder cause you get to do alot of multi monster fights with limited time it has alot more monsters and weapons styles even thou im a long sword user (most limited type) its usually when you give up that you get what you need the desire meter is defiantly all knowing!

Okay, this is just stupid.
I need one lagi horn to finish the armor on my other account. (60% for head break) break the head every quest, 10 lagis later, 0 horns.
Don't even get me started on the plate...

30 blos+ and no majestics makes me think you are. They are given out as base and subquest rewards in addition to being possible from horn break. Stouts are one of the rarest items in the game, coming only from horn break reward (I've heard some say stouts can appear in base rewards of double blos event, but I've never seen it and no easy data on it at tridb so you will need clarification elsewhere)

For tailcases just do the offline double blos hunt. They are in base rewards.

To clarify some misinformation: Break reward number and drop percents are not modified by any armor or food skills. Cap Expert adds one extra cap reward and the luck skills felyne or armor are related to base rewards.

if i'm reliable enough i can tell you i had stouts in the first reward line in double diablos event.

Hello again. I think by this point we're all familiar with how bad my luck is, and after seeing this happen in game 5 minutes ago, I felt I had to share it.

I recently started making Lagi armor, but I was having trouble with the last few materials. I got the plate after 3 or 4 lagi, but it took me until my 10th to get the final horn (despite the 64% drop rate, of course). So once I finished the armor, I set out to get rathalos scales for assault jewels. When it came to the quest rewards screen on the 3rd rathalos, I saw about 5 or 6 scales, which was perfect. Just enough to finish the armor, in fact.

Four plates.
I don't need plates.
I don't want plates.
I want scales.
I look for the most common item possible, and I recieve incredibly rare items.
