Is this correct?

It is correct o,o
Rapid fire can deal more than twice the damage me thinks but the accuracy suffers a bit from it cuz monster can move out of your rapid fire volley and suddenly you hit wrong hitzones and such but still its better to use Rapid Fire

Rapid fire ammo does less damage but is useful if you are fighting a monster for a long time to conserve ammo.
Non rapid fire deals more damage but runs out quickly.

"Rapid Fire and Single Fire element is generally the same damage, rapid fire just conserves ammunition. However, once you introduce Bonus Shot, Rapid Fire Element deals much greater damage than single fire within roughly the same time frame."

The short answer is it depends

The long answer is a decent amount of maths involving clip size and recoil. Then estimates of how much you'll be missing because of the monster moving, and how much you value ammo conservation. I've gone over the topic before, if you have any faith in the forum search

I think ill stick to normal element gunning for most the time except for maybe the double monster quests and a few other quests.
