Braving the Kushala Daora: Tips?

What the hell should I be doing against the Kushala Daora? I haven't fought it yet, so I don't quite know the severity of its damage, or what its move set is like, so I'm just wondering - before I rush head first into such a no doubt dangerous battle - what I should be looking out for.

Poison it so that the wind barrier goes down then go after its head until the horns break so that the wind barrier goes down permanently. If you want you can cut the tail to the same effect, but it is much harder. when it flies flash it down and hit it while it is recovering, it will also have its wind barrier down when flashed. Bring thawing agent if you are fighting it in the Snowy mountains, because its wind attacks will freeze you if you get hit. Other than that, just watch out for its attacks and hit it till it dies.

Alright, well, I feel confident and I have a superb lack of materials to help me out on this quest. So what I'm going to do is this: Bring ten potions, five hot drinks, my trusty longsword and a whole lot of rageface.

You get supplied some poison throwing knives and a couple of flash bombs depending on the quest, use those, or just get some flashbugs, sap plants, and stone from the farm and make some flash bombs.

What longsword?

When I first beat it i made the genprey poison sword (bad decision) and took 2 tries to finish it (1 escape). I later learned that hammer was the most effective way to beat it but no tail. If you get it right it will be stunned for half the fight. You can also just flash it and when he gets the barrier hit it in the head with you long sword.

I used the rathian LS, if you don't have trouble farming Ian you should get it

Just use an eager cleaver... Then use poison knives and poison bombs to take care of the aura...

I'm going to need to get an Eager Cleaver, 'cause I'm going to need it for Tigrex as well.
