I actually agree on that, its kinda annoying seeing games (especially nintendo games) with the consoles name in the title itself. ZOMG I swear, If they make a call it "Mario Party U" I will roadhouse kick someone thru a wall...

( Monster Hunter: U r the Hunted... ) No I don't want to be hunted /versad/ Anyway, I don't have any complains in the name, but yeah, U, 3D, 64, Super, all are overused Nintendo names

PLEASE no smash U or smash Universe /no/ Yea I hate mario Kart games (except for double dash) partly because of that reason. & smash bros. name is still going under debare from my last update on the game. smash U was just to address they were plannin on a new game but that was not their final decision yet.

| This is still the monster hunter section....
Keeping on topic, Capcom has been complaining about server cost for a while now, so I am wondering if they will wait till MHU comes out in the states or just Japan to shut down or of they'll just drastically reduce the amount of servers (city gates and all) and still keep Tri online open.

| I dont think they will close the server untill MHU comes out.
They will probably do that, they could have done that a looong time ago.
not even one server is full, I remember when they use to be 8...

| Maybe all the servers that got shut down in tri are going to be reserved for mh3u? But I guess shutting down the current ones would force mh fans to switch over and buy the new version. Guess we'll have to wait and find out.
Off-topic: It's pretty unreasonable to hate a game just for the name. I mean, it doesn't make it any less fun to play does it?

actually, do you even remember when they downsized the servers? everyone flipping out like a meteor was about to impact Loc Lac. I cant wait for the day they do finally shut down the servers just to record the gates and make the home movie " Loc Lac's last hurrah.." U know it's just gonna be a bunch of kids cussing out capcom that day

Off-topic: It's pretty unreasonable to hate a game just for the name. I mean, it doesn't make it any less fun to play does it? Completely different companies hosting the servers, so... And the Nintendo is paying the bill and running the MHU servers, Capcom was paying the bill and having another company run the Tri servers. The only reason the western ones were kept open was apparently due to the higer ups at Capcom USA fighting to keep them open until the west recieved anothe MH game with online. As far as the name thing... I don't think anyone cares, their just having fun with it since Nintendo has a long history of naming games after their systems.

U know it's just gonna be a bunch of kids cussing out capcom that day I have foreseen what will happen that day. In every forum, in the city gates, in the cities, and in youtube videos, once Loc Lac closes its gates, everyone will say... "F*ck you Capcom"

| I don't get why everyone is so pissed about them closing tri's servers, It's expensive for them to keep them open and Tri U will have online with everything Tri had + more. Plus we still have a resonable amount of time left with Tri, it's not like we all woke up one morning and Tri's servers had been shut down with no warning or reason. | |

Its obvious that they will say "well in (XXXX amount of time) we will close Tri servers permanently. Please enjoy the last (XXXX amount of time) left of Hunting. Yours Truly (XXXX name of Capcom employee or Unity Mod)" before they close Tri.

| Also keep in mind not everyone is getting MHU right off the bat. not everyone is fortunate to be able to pick up a $300 (as an example price) console andd a $50 game. Hell i have to save now just to get this thing. Some people only have the opportunity to get it from birthdays/christmas IF lucky. and then there are thise who simple just want to keep playing tri for whatever reason.
Not everyone may even be aware of the serverse shutting down. Go online and ask a gate "who keeps up with MH news?" and really see how many people do. So yes, the deactivation of the servers is a big thing to some people.

Precisely yesterday that I was playing Tri I was about to say "Tri servers closing about march", but didn't say it. After playing for a while I noticed that most people aren't even aware that Tri is in its last days. Maybe it will take by surprise to those who will buy Tri in the next months.

| ^ very well put. Perfect example here. I got tri Back when It came out. from april-now I got meh 2 closest buddies into tri. One bought a wii and picked up a copy of tri at A-cen, & he's hunted with meh online over the summer. The other guy I sold meh wii to for extra money & he finally got to play tri usin a goof account I made ( even tho I think he pretty much trolled around online ). But now he wants to get a wii/tri for himself. people are still getting tri and fully unaware of the convert. So when they find out a game they just bought is being scrapped, basically, to make way for the new version yea your gonna hear an uproar. | |

| The PAL servers at launch and the months that followed were pretty packed.
These days it's pretty lucky to have 1,000 online at any given time. I've seen it sit at about 200 players for hours. The Tri servers going down would be a 'big problem' for a handful of people in the grand scheme of things, at least in Europe.
How about Japan though, they still pay for their online stuff right? It's going down too?
