Which one looks better? 3ds or xl?

I have played demo of mh3u on my friend's 3ds xl and almost made me go wow, graphic blows. Even P3rd looks better on my psp go.....
So my question is does the game looks better on 3ds? Since it has smaller screen? Or does it looks the same? Is it the demo that makes game look bad? Because some texts were quite hard to read since they were all jagged out. Please help!

I'm using the 3ds, and the graphic's ok to me. Played the demo on it as well, and it wasn't much different. It's definitely not jagged, though the font makes my eyes a bit tired when 3d's on

The 3DS is not HD and the 3DS XL is HD?

I've got both systems but I'm not at my house right now. I'll try out the game on both the regular 3ds and the XL and see if there is a noticable difference when I get home later.

It looks better on the regular 3ds, but I prefer the larger display.

i was told that the 3dsXL was essentially just stretching the screen. Any truth in that? it would explain the jaggedness Jinathin saw

It pretty much does just stretch the screen but I got a XL anyway because I hate small screens.

i have fairly small hands for my size (6' and my hands are the same size as my 5'4" wife) and even on the XL my hands cramp up if i play for more than 20 minutes. it was a little bit better when i threw it in the nerf case because i actually had something to grip onto.

point being go for bigger unless you have baby sized hands.

Yeah right, anything on PSP pales in comparison to the 3DS, but yeah, I think the XL is basically just a screen stretch in terms of resolution, even though I don't have one (I prefer small screens)

I have the 3ds and my fiance got the xl the 3d works better on the xl because of the larger screen and the smoother edges on the 3ds let you play a bit longer without irritating your hands I've watched the cut scenes on both and unless your one of those people that inspects for stretching under a microscope or something you don't notice it and as far as I'm concerned if your big issue is whether the screen is streched rather than holy hell theres an f***ing rathalos coming at me then you're missing the point of the game entirely

that is kind of what I thought, that it would be stretched but it wouldn't be noticeable.

Anyways a lot of people get confused on the differences in the two system because there are several differences... I will point out the overall differences and not just how they apply to MH3U:

1:1 Pixel Mode:

Applys mostly to DS,DSI,GBA ect. What this does give you a better display of gameplay graphics, rather than a fuzzy, unclear play through. you can play in the original screen size or a full screen size.


The 3DSxl has an exstended battery life. which I have found to be quite usefull...


Screen pixle shape... The Pixle shape on the XL is more compact than that of the 3DS' pixles, this allowes for a tighter pixle configuration. Though the same number of pixles and larger pixles on the XL they are essentually placed closser together.


Higher antiglare.

The glass used in the 3DSxl uses a new type of glass that raises the anti-glare to almost triple or higher of that of the regular 3DS, so in outdoor or higher light areas you will still be able to see the screen better.


Larger screen:

Well obviously a larger screen mean some people will be able to see it better..



3D

For some the 3D on the XL is easier to see, however it also is less forgiving at higher levels.





Over all though it really depends on personal preferances... For some the screen size is better on the XL as well as the comfort and extra features it does offer.. for others the image quality for regular 3DS games is slightly better on the regular 3DS as well as the 3D.

In the end it really depends on the person as to which looks better But one thing we can all agree on:
