Everyone has their own opinion.

I only got this game last week and since then i have been glued to the screen with its amazing game play, The variety of monsters and equipment from weapons to armour to traps and charms, But i am curious in what you use! What would be your favorite weapon in MH3u either it be for its looks or just for its sheer raw power and ability to cripple anything in one swing or shot. And even armour, I know all this may sound stupid and pointless but i see it as a conversation starter and for me to get to know some of the MH lingo lol

At the moment my fave weapon to use on power would be my brother blazes and for looks i love anything brachy ;D Armour i have yet to see one i like lol, So please share with me and everyone else your opinion and let your voice be heard ;D

I am up to brachy and haven't killed him yet but what is so bad about them? I think they look cool but is slime really that deadly?

I use slime weapons at the moment, until I finished maxing out my other weapons, and yes they're pretty powerful, I can use the unupgraded Demolition Axe, and take a High Rank Rathian in less than 5mins.

Wow that is awesome, But if it is in the game how would that be a cheap way of fighting where you don't even get them til the end of the village quests?

I have been using the wroggi armour and I am up to five star quests. I must admit it made some of the 4 star monsters a lot less imtimidating (especially with the negate poison skill).

I have also been doing a HBG play through and I definitely think bowguns have gotten more powerful than in Tri. I do like the Hunting Horn a lot too though!

For gunning I love Diablos Armor and the Lucent Narga HBG or the Willuminator and the H. Jhen armor.

For blade master, I use Steel Uragaan and either the World's Demise gun lance, plessy, or Miralis GL.

It's not cheap, some people just think they are because of how good they are. There are plenty of weapons out there better than slime, it's just a new trend by players to hate the slime weapon trees.

tbh i have a couple of brachy weapons but i only use them when i dont have the proper upgraded element i need for the monster I'm fighting.

Slime hate movement is so classic that when MH4 will come out and someday when they close 3U servers ppl will miss it because in future instalment Capcom will probably try to balance it, change its properties etc. I like it because i see it this way and also the design of each Dios weapon is pretty cool. But many people are overreacting. Claiming that "i hate slime and will never use it, not in my life" is just so childish. Sounds like someone put a challange not to use fire element weapons in the whole MH series because no reason whatsoever...

I know what i do. I will never collect any gems/mantles in the entire game. If i get it i will sell it. Now that's fun! I'm so original, cool, hardcore and edgy oh oh!

My favorite weapon so far is the Brachydios Lance. Why? Because I don't have to switch armors and weapons when going from quest to quest. It allows me to get back from a quest, replenish my supplies, eat, post/join a quest and go. Saving me that much more time. Sure it isn't that much time, but it adds up. Also, since I can't play all that often, I try to level as fast as I can.

People will always hate slime, dislike the people who use it, and never use it themselves. Why? Because it's helpful. People don't like making things easier. They like to have the bragging rights like, "I made my G rank armor set using a low rank weapon!" After all, everyone likes to be able to have the bragging rights of, "I spent longer making my armor set than you did!"

It's those people that could have done it faster, but they didn't have the right weapon. And they could have used a slime weapon to speed tings up. But unfortunately, people like slower.

Favourite armour/weapon combo right now is Volvidon X and Brachydios duals (Specrtral Demolishers).
Brachy weapons are so versatile and that's why I love em.
I'm currently in the process of upgrading all my other weapons and it's so handy to have a weapon that does everything good.

Don't have to grind X to farm for Y so I can get Z and so on. I can just get stuff at my own pace.

I still love my sworn rapiers + and my brother blazes, I am sure that there is going to be better for damage soon though lol

Well, it's of course SnS for me, so I try and use the best elemental one to suit whatever I'm hunting. Have got my Brachy SnS which I'll prob use more later, it'll be a good general weapon rather than switching between each quest, either that or a poison SnS.

Lately I've been wondering why everyone seems so big on HGE as it's a skill I've never used, realised last night it's probably cause I tend to block when the monster roars so HGE isn't as important for me. Am currently using the Barroth X armor set, it's got some decent skills (Au and constitution suit me well) and thinking my next set will be Agna X gemmed so I get Handicraft to compliment the Razor Sharp.

Considering I spent a nice amount of time farming non brachy (lol barely ever fought him ;__; I need more gems than palliums for some reason) I acquired a nice amount of weapons. Mainly bows/gunlances/switchaxes. Hopefully I'll get the artisan's hammer reward soon. I tend to usually main gunlance/switchaxe and maybe occasionally bow or bowgun on a specific mosnter (lbg for abyssal, hbg for jinouga)

My general sets are

Slime weapons are not the best, but are a crutch for those that need a little bit more help in doing the hunts. The reason they are used often is because of the "explosion" factor. It is capable of destroying body parts and flinching the monster when it goes off... which in turn allows for more hits, which inflicts another explosion, ad nauseum.

I do not hate slime weapons, but I am tired of seeing people exclusively use them. I used to like playing in Unite and in regular try, where people would switch out depending on what the target was. It showed dedication, and a knowledge of what was expected of them.

Now its: Weak to Ice? Bring Slime... Weak to lightning? Bring slime. Free Hunt? Bring slime...

Strategies like sonic bombing a blos, then flash bombing when it tries to escape have been relegated to the old pros, Proper timing of GS charges on a charging monster have been left to the stories of legends...

/pokr/ Anyways, back on topic, for Greatsword: Crit Draw + Focus ... all other skills are just gravy if you can put this in. Hunting Horn, Horn Maestro + Evasion = Gold... You can adjust your active skills by just switching hunting horns.

When it comes to Moga hunting, I gem for "Negate Hunger", and I make cha-cha or Kayamba use the whetstone mask. Then all you have to do is empty out your item pouch and go hunting (after eating of course). You can self heal with the horn, you will never go hungry, and you can always keep your weapon sharp. You can hunt till the popos come home and not have to worry about running out of backpack space... provided you do not carve the little monsters.

S+1 and AuL is probably edgemaster skill so i recon he have some mix of nether. It's easy to gem in rest of these skills with good Sharpness tali.
